Odd Noise

I have an 06 LS and I get this odd noise when either I sit in one spot for a while or after I turn the car off. I have owned a bunch of cars but never heard anything like this. It doesnt sound like grinding but almost like two things are rubbing each other a little but I dont know what it could be because the car is off. And it doesnt sound like fluids at all. Any ideas. Ill try to get a video of it.

What location is it coming from? When my car is off, I often hear a noise in my dash behind the center vents, a rubbing and sometimes grinding noise like something is trying to dig its way out...I've always attributed it to the automatic climate control system self calibrating and I've never pursued it...I don't even know if our cars have a self calibration mode....

Thats exactly what it sounds like. Yea, its coming from behind the center dash and sounds like there is an animal in there crawling around. Well, if you have had it for a while Ill just assume its ok. Thanks NHViggen.

It's perfectly normal. It is on a delay, so that you normally would not hear it if getting out of the car right after turning it off. I've heard it a bunch of times, because I'm always gathering my things, getting the kid out of the car, etc.

I completely agree. It's the air door servos moving around. I'm not sure why they do or what it accomplishes.
