Ok, no air through vents.. done the blend.. relaced

The controller under the pass dash and replaced the Dash unit for the AC.

I've been chasing this problem for a long time. As soon as I turn on the car the air is on. The headunit ac unit has no control over this. I've replaced it and it still happens. I've replaced the controller under the passenger dash and have the same problem.

Besides that I've been chasing the no air out of the dash issue. I've done the blend door. I've checked and replaced several vacuum hoses under the hood and still have this issue.

When I hit the max ac button I hear two clicks from under the hood. I'm guessing it's the compressor but would that have any effect on the rest of these issues.

Does anyone know where I need to start trying to troubleshoot this issue? It's been a nightmare.

GMAN. My car is sitting primered with the hood, trunk and doorhandles off. Your welcome to come by here though. I appreciate the invite and would take you up on it if I could.

Today I'm test shooting clear coat on a test panel. You can see the base coat I'm putting on. Once I get the PSI and flow of the clear I'll be shooting the base/clear on the hood/trunk/front bumper and gas cap.

That's the plan anyway. It's a big day for paint. There's going to be lots of activity. lol

It's granite metallic. A 2010 Lexus color.

edit: I live in sharpstown. SW Houston near Bellaire and 59 South.
 
Hey I'll be in houston in about 2 weeks, we should have a lil Mark meet

if your air is blowing out of the defroster only, then you have a vacuum leak somewhere, most of the reasons for this default air passage is because of the black vacuum line that runs across the intake, to the fender, there's a splice on that line by the firewall on the passenger side, the black line goes to a canister in the pass fender, and thru the firewall behind the glove box, then it connects to a vacuum union, check there, the rubber that the hose fits in is very soft an the hose can fall out, I put a very small ammount of super glue on the side of the line and stuck it back in the union...now my air blows hard from the vent

As of now there is no air out of the vent even. Used to do that but no-more. Is where your talking about under the hood or inside the car?
 
There's the first thing to check, is the fan coming on at all??

The vacuum line I'm reffering to is a hard plastic tube, it's about the size of a pen well, it runs across the motor from the vacuum manifold to the pass fender where it then splits, one of those goes to a canister, the other goes thru to firewall to a union behind the glove box, if you drop the glove box down, you'll see the little cluster of vacuum lines, black/yellow/red, there's like 5 or 6 right there in the upper left of the glove box, then I would check the vacuum connection at the contol unit

You hear the fan come on. But you don't feel any air. So Inside the pass glove box there is a connector w/3-4 diff. colored tubes going to it. I remember that thing. I'll check it out but last time I saw it it looked ok. I might be thinking about the one in the dash though? ... yea... maybe I'm thinking about the one that goes in the back of the HVAC.

edit: actually just took the car out and unlike the last (ohhh idaknow. 5 months.) I actually felt a tiny bit of air out of the vents) With it on max AC.
 
Have you done the EATC self test? Press the OFF and FLOOR buttons at the same time and then press the AUTOMATIC button within two seconds. Also check for vacuum leaks as everyone else has said.

I did that on the last EATC and got codes. Haven't done that on this one yet. I'll try it out. I've been searching for vacuum leaks yes, but haven't found one yet. I did find two hoses that were corroded and replaced them but they were not 'colored' vacuum hoses. I'm going to get up under the pass. dash and look at the hoses the poster above said.
 
OK, just bought this 98 Mark VIII. I read this post in hopes of a solution to the same problem I'm having - no air thru vents (or defrost or floor). Need more help. I'm in process of replacing blend door arms. I can move them manually but still no air thru vents or defrost or floor. Blower motor is fine. Had it apart and it almost twisted out of my hand when turned on. I checked vacuum at back of automatic control module and it's pulling 15 inches of vacuum. I hooked up vacuum pump to each colored hose and they hold pressure and I can hear the motors or doors working. ( I did prop open the vent above the motor so fan is getting air) Still no air thru vents or defrost or floor. Am I missing a door somewhere? Something is blocking air movement. Any ideas?

Hate to bump an old post but what you described is exactly what is happening to my car.
What was the solution? GMAN's description sounds different than to what I'm experiencing, as I do feel air from all of the vents when you switch them. Just the tiniest amount ever.
Feels like it is getting stopped somewhere.
