Off-road exhaust system

Re-Pete, go post in my TCI thread which model ect you have and anything else you know about it and Ill help you out. Dont wanna jack this thread and I have some issues with what you posted. Im going to sleep tho.

My problem with that was I didn't know if I could get a reducer in there.. Like I said, that's only 3 extra inches you have plus you have to account for the bends. The stockers had that built in..

soo in order to make a 2.5 woork I'd need to fit in.. one of those adapter pieces from the pipe after the headers to get onto the bigger cat, whereas the 2.25 already fit. sorry for so many questions, just trying to get a vivid picture.
 
ANY LINKS to this sed tci? id like to know the price for that biznitch and how much they would charge me around here to get it installed!!!!
 
the streetfighter is for I think 2600-3600 set stall? I think...... I can't remember exactly....right now I'm in plenty of pain from the gym so I'm gonna sleep on it tonight :P

Exactly.. I was tired last night and couldn't remember the right words to use.. lol I believe that's what it'll do. Unless you get a really restrictive muffle like flowmaster..

I will check the size tonight.. But if it's 2 coming off of the manis, then you would need 2 reducers because they don't make one going from 2 to 2.5.. This would more than take up your 3" and then you wouldn't have the room for the bend at the bottom of the cat..

that's what I meant Pete just those are the stall RPMs you can set it at. the cheaper TC are only in the 1000-2000rpm range :P

I stand corrected.. They just didn't have them at my local parts store.. They are cheap but look at the length (4.5 inches).. You only have 3 plus you probably need 1.5" just for the bend.. Plus, you would have to look for stainless because that is what the stock system is. Putting that aluminum plated stuff will rust out within a year or two..

I had a shop weld mine in so I didn't do the welding but I had it planned out before I took it to him..
 
yea I got under there this morning and I saw what you were talking about, the cats are actually on that bend before they straighten out, although I was thinking replace the current cats with piping, then after that elbow (like 135 degrees) put the cats there.. seems to be more room. think it could work? I was gonna have all the parts and measurements mapped out then take it to a shop to have it welded too, no way I was going aluminized.. I got the x pipe stainless instead of aluminized after doing the same research and hearing the same "rust out fast" problem. Plus I'm all aboput go before show. noones gonna be really under my car looking at the exhaust for prettiness. I keep her clean and waxed, but I'm not taking her to shows or anything.
 
ok i dont want it to crackle lol, i did the muffler delete but i still want it a little louder any ideas?

It could possibly work but there is no heat shielding there so you would have to add it..

The crackle (from what I've read) was only in SST.. Maybe take the res. out and replace with glasspacks?

I saw that but noone says if it makes it louder or not.. It just said, "gives it a supersonic tone".. Looks pretty cool though..
 
Normal operating temps for a cat is around 600 degrees.. Once it gets back by the mufflers, it could have easily dropped 400 degrees.. You can touch the mufflers when the car is running..
