has anyone cut the springs on their conversion? i have a spring conversion and wanted to lower it but im broke....

I have the lowered ones from StrutMasters, but don't cut yours, just heat the coil with a torch
if you lower your springs you'll have to get struts and shocks that can handle being compressed like that...Tokico makes some

Heat with a torch? Are you serious? I remember learning that is one of the worst ways of ever lowering a car because the heating ruins the temper of the metal. I have seen pictures of springs that twisted up like a pretzel because of being heated.

I talked to the guy at American Air and asked about the lowered springs, and he said that all they were were the standard height coil springs with one coil cut off of each spring.

Cut them if you want to lower it correctly.

i have heard the same thing that bobotech said about the lowerd american air springs. just cut them.

Just cut em... do not heat em...

A spring is dumb... it doesn't know how many times it goes around...

Never torch a spring.

Measure your height, cut one coil using a 4 1/2 hand grinder with a cutoff wheel.
Install... drive it for a few days re-measure If you didn't get the height you wanted do it again.

Eh well I've heard of it being done...or ya can just buy the heigth you want..or cut em

Never heat a spring..... I had a buddy do this... and the spring collapsed from the weight/heat...

Break out the cutoff wheel.

thanks guys for the info i have a grinding wheel as soon as im done ill post before and after pics
