It is on a timer..A 3 minute timer. Is that not enough time for you to get inside from your driveway? How long would you like them to stay on?

If the three minute timer isn't enough, then your next choice is the sleep timer. Turn the headlights on manually. They'll go off twenty or thirty minutes after you last mess with the car (open a door/trunk, key on, whatever).

well mine stays on for about 20-30 seconds..i would like them to stay on longer than that

Keep turning the dial counter clockwise until the mark is at about 9 o'clock. It should say what the timer is set to on your display on your gauge cluster.

yea..i dont think it does

You have the V6 correct? Then you don't have the message center. I don't know if you have gen I or gen II. I know that you can set the headlight time on a gen II even without the message center. The procedure is in the owner's manual. Look it up.

The autolamp system also keeps the lights on for a period of time after
the ignition switch is turned to OFF. The period of time that the lights
remain on is set at the factory but the time may be adjusted using the
sequence below.
Exit delay programming sequence
1. Start with the ignition in the RUN position and autolamps selected on
the headlight switch.
2. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. (This will start a 10 second
timer during which steps 3 through 6must be completed.)
3. Turn the autolamps OFF.
4. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
6. Turn the autolamps on (The park lamps and low beams will turn on.)
7. Turn the autolamps off after the desired delay time is reached. (The
maximum programmable delay is 3 minutes. The lights that turned on in
step 6 will turn off.)

My turn to spoon feed.
