Oil change time question

That is Semi Synthetic oil by Ford. Go to Walmart and you can buy Castrol Full Syn oil in a 5qt can and it's only around $26.00, which is about $5.25 per qt.

cant afford the 8 dollar a bottle oil right now, but still looking to buy some good synthetic oil, saw this for 4 bucks a bottle, anyone use this or heard of it before?

Motorcraft/1 qt. SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend motor oil

That's the oil my Ford dealer used in my 06' crew cab Lariat every time they changed the oil. I got the maintenance package when I bought the truck as a "gift" from the dealer. It seems like pretty good oil. No issues I know of. It was a different weight though, 5W20 is what they used.

You might be able to get an analysis of the oil from "Bob is the oil guy" web site. I noticed they teamed up with a lab to test oil composition against manufacturers claims.

yea but when u use the dipstick...it comes up a quart less...i had to pit a tad bit over 7 just to make it to the line...and no leaks by the way....

My 04 takes 7 qts with filter and registers ever so slightly above the full mark. You may not have the oil cooler but I bet it will still be short at 6qts.

I use Amsoil XL full synth. Its a little pricey but compared to other synth's this lasts the longest. And yes you do need 7 qts. I usually put the full 6 in then a couple splashes of the 7th. Add as needed.
