I took the LS to a local "Pay-n-spray" car wash the other day and blew the road grime and crap off of the car, and all was good.

I don't think I made it a block and the "check left tailight" message popped on. I assumed water and made it's way to the light bulbs or connection. I pulled the light assembly and no H2O was to be found at all and the bulbs are good. The turn signal works but both tailight bulbs on the left won't function. Since I have been hauling stuff around to finish my basement I've been driving the explorer all week. I will check this weekend but is it possible water got the REM? If nothing is found there I'm stumped.

Well, I finally got around to looking at the LS today; I haven't driven it in awhile. :(

The good news is that the problem was the fuse in the trunk. A 5amp fuse in the number 3 slot. Thank God that's all that was.:p

Not to be the buzz kill here, but..
Fuses don't just wear out. They blow for a reason. You have an occasional short somewhere on that circuit. The odds are good that the problem will come back eventually.

so maybe he did get water into a circuit to short it out, or it is something other

Yes, but water shouldn't be getting into any of the circuits. I'd want to fix that problem before it costs me more money by ruining the exposed parts.

Yeah, I thought perhaps water got in somewhere it shouldn't and shorted something blowing the fuse. I'll for sure keep a eye on things; nothing happened all night so that's good.
