Surge Intake SuperCharger has anyone tried it?

Oh, man. These things are awesome. I put two of them in series on my LS. It increases the performance exponentially when you add more. I get about 30 mpg now and at lease an extra 60 horses.

Best investment ever.

That was a good one:D

Joking aside it doesn't claim anything insane like some of those "chips" do with 50+ HP gains & such. It only claims moderate increase so I don't think it's to far fetched. The concept has to make sense though as the fan does spin which would force more air no?

You bet your ass it works! I actually took it a step further and put two in each exhaust pipe facing backwards as well as three in my intake. The only problem was my engine was moving so much air that it couldn't get enough fuel so I had to buy 8 of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Linc...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item25596d50dc.

At that point my car had so much un-tuned horsepower that I decided to really up the ante and get myself this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/A-PE...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4a9f837a3c so that I could "Supercharge my cars horsepower!"

Then I ran into cooling issues so I bought these to cool it down under the hood and so I could officially say I had Ram Air: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIV...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3caa985924

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Univ...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item439e30fcad

I then fab'ed this up to come out of the hood between them:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Snor...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3efba529d2

Then I then bought a few of these just to let everyone know what they were messing with:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-SU...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item483536e886

I bolted all of this on in a week and half and had it rear end dynoed to 836hp which translates to approximately 1,068 rwhp due to my magnetically tuned drive shaft. I also get about 250 mpg but that's really of no concern to me at this point. Oh yeah I also forgot I do have a flux capacitor mod as well.

It would be more of a restriction in the intake tubing than anything else. I doubt that thing would spin enough to keep up with the motor sucking in air.

You're missing DEI.

Nope, I'm a tornado man. Can duplicate that technology, there is only one.lol

Get yourself a CAI, some magnaflows, copper plugs, some good synthetic and a dyno tune, and if you still want more, go the turbo/super/NOS route.

From browsing around on here it seems the KKM CAI is the way to go correct? If I get my car tuned does it void my warranty?

for an 03, K&N or KKM, but I think most prefer the K&N since it comes with a heatshield. In order to tune the car you need the SCT xCal3 or similar unit. It will not void your warranty and you can return the car from custom tune to stock tune in about 5 minutes.

Yeah, k&N with the heatshield, it's what I have. Dont know if it will void your warranty. Mine is out either way so I went with it and it is worth it

The fan spins because the incoming air runs into the blades and has to push them out of the way to get to the engine. It doesn't have a motor to spin the blades and push the air. This means friction (despite the frictionless ball bearings they mention on the website). Friction means restriction which means less airflow getting to your engine. It can't do anything but hurt your cars performance and your wallet.

How do these 2 things work?

Dennis,

A few helpful notes. First, use the search function. Each of these items has been discussed ad nauseum. Second, you get what you pay for. Third, here are your best bets for performance upgrades that actually work based on actual work and testing done by people on these forums:

New Intake KKM or similar
New Exhaust
SCT with some custom tunes

Other forum members have done more such as limited slip differentials, turbo chargers and one supercharger.

And finally, remember you purchased a Lincoln not a Mustang. The sooner you accept your car for what it is the happier you will be.

If you just like to tinker try some of the other great projects people have done:

Clear headlight corners on Gen1 lights
Reverse SST on sport models
Lowering springs
painted license surrounds
New sound system
etc.
