i have a 2000 lincoln ls and i purchased it two years ago. i don't hear or feel the back two deck speakers working. could someone explain to me how they are supposed to operate? i just replaced them with brand new ones. they still don't work. i have an aftermarket stereo installed. thank you.

did you have Alpine sound system ? if not you have only 4 door speaker

no i had the factory six disc changer then i went to an after market stereo. i changed out the speakers so i know that they were connected just don't know what to do to get them to work. i may run wires from the door speakers to the deck speakers.

You have to make sure the amp is working and if it is your only going to hear bass. Best thing to doo is probably get a aftermarket amp and hook it up to that

because there are 2 factory sound system there are Alpine and stock

Alpine have 8 Speaker

stock have 4 speaker

there is an Alpine headunit

believe there is 3 factory sound systems. Because when I got mine used it had 6 speakers.

you probably didnt hook up the factory amp plug when installing the aftermarket radio, there is a special harness(Metra 70-5519) that has a small plug with RCA's coming out of it to plug into the sub outs on the radio that will plug into the 8 pin factory amp plug

acutally the alpine sound system has 12 speakers, each door has a two speaker component plate with a 1" tweeter and a 4"ish midrange driver, then there are the two factory subs in the rear deck and then there are the two 3 1/2" effect speakers for the DSP(note the DSP button on the face of the radio) on the center console (one on each side)
