v8 with 73k miles. At approx. 30mph a deep humming sound begins and the faster I drive the more high pitched the sound. When speed decreases the sound seems to be even louder as opposed to when I am speeding up. Ive cranked up my speed to 90mph and of course the sound becomes more higher pitched and less noticeable but only because the obvious ratios of wind speed and distance traveled per second. I thought it was my brand new POS continental tires but upon swapping out my older '00 stock alloy rims with new firestones, yep still he same damn sound. Nothing changes whether or not Im turning to the left/right. I took the lincoln around a few on/off ramps at 30-45 and the sound is the same whether or not Im driving straight or turning. Also, the car has no vibrations and drives straight as an arrow.

I've got an issue every-time i hit the gas i hear a loud CLICK i thought it was the bolt that was missing from my passenger back seat latch hitting the frame of the car cause it wasn't secure but now i put a bolt in there maybe not the right exact size but its in there tight clamped down any ideas on what to check

Here's a suggestion: start your own thread since you have a different issue.

Assuming it's a FRONT bearing: Yep. It's all one assembly with the abs sensor included as well. IIRC they are about 135. The part is the same for either side. so if you change it, and the sound doesn't go away, put the one you took off onto the other side.

if it is the front then yes, its a whole assembly, and its fairly easy to replace.

If you click the search button on top of this board, it will lead you to many disscusions, and play by plays on this.

If it is a rear, then no, its a bearing only, and you can also click SEARCH and find a play by play on it.

are you sure? I thought mine said LH and RH on the backs.

it sure as hell sounds like the front end...what a pain if it turns out to be the rear. Has anybody every had issues distinguishing between the front and rear bearing/hub sounds?

wow....Im not sure how to put this but SEARCH!!!!!!!! Dang dude.

Jack up the car, if the bearing is bad, you should be able to wiggle the wheel alot.

no, I was refering to the fronts...but I only did one...and its been a year or two.

Let me be more specific then for your health, I've been searching all day reading thread after thread thanks to this lovely search engine that makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for...and I have not come up with any results so i thought maybe I would include that on my thread hoping somebody that has had this happen would be able to direct me to a thread!

The search feature on lvc sucks. Try doing a search on google. Click advanced search. Then you can type in your search terms, and in a separate box you can type in the URL of the website you want it to search within. Works a lot better.

Check it:

and thanks for looking out for my health...now I'll look out for yours. Would you like fries with that?

If the cannot fell a wiggle on the wheel/tire, then jack up both front wheels off the ground and spin the wheel/tire while touching the A Frame or other front suspension part. You should be able to feel the vibration from the bad bearing in the A Frame. That way you can figure out if it is the right or the left side.
