Ls3 in a 2000 LS

The cts v runs a ls A engine it's close to a ls 3 but it's not one. Any ways an idea struck me today as I was throwing ideas around with a couple mechanics in my shop and a system
similar to a military vehical would work in therory and we are going to try that can't say what it is because I'm unsure if I can so we are going to run tests and try it out cuz one of the guys has a team that races in Oklahoma and he is on board with me.
 
What system from a military vehicle? Not that it matters but they're all diesels, and kept very simple. I'm curious as to what you think from military trucks is going to help put something different in an LS.
 
what would be the chances of making a larger ford motor work, ( do not be confused im not asking if i can do it) i mean if your going to attempt it why not use a ford motor then at least the electronics may be easier to make work. i have no clue if a 5.0 would fit in the car but that would be mighty nice to have because of the options for it. but i do agree there would be a great sense of accomplishment when you have the only one and you didn't just drop a :q:q:q:q ton on a new car. i mean there is a rwd cavalier at my track with a huge motor(not sure the size) so anything can happen

Someone has but a 302 in an LS before, the swap looked like absolute dick.
 
No, I mean the engine looked like he pulled it out of a farm truck that had never been serviced or anything.
 
oooohhhhhh ok either way seems like a lot of custom parts would need to be made i dont know though, ive never swaped a motor that wasn't any kind of not supposed to be in a car
 
yeah seems like more work than its worth to drop a chevy motor in it... find it funny that you think ford is :q:q:q:q but bought the lincoln. but anyways carry on nmore power to ya if you manage to do it and half of anything works
 
I paid 3000 for it from my mom I needed a car to get around in that didn't eat gas like my 86 elcamino and my 60 is under construction. So I bought her a mountaineer and paid her 3000 what she owed for the ls because I have 4 other siblings the mountaineer was a better choice for her.
 
hhhmmmmmm....... so anyways does an ls3 even remotely fit in the car, we do have a tiny engine bay
 
You make it fit hahaha. No imma take measurements this weekend. The only issue I see is length wise. I know someone who has an ls2 which they are the same size so I will use that as reference and as my test for our test of the system we have in mind to run both system we found and ls that go rear ended and will use the electronics out of that to create a mock.
 
good luck with all that lol. what about buying a "ford" crate motor with mostly edelbrock parts on it. i know you said you dont like ford but i think the wiring will be simpler it may not i dont know. or maybe use a chevy motor but with a carb. so there are less electronics
