I put on a new wheel bearing, front right, last year took the car out of storage today and the damn thing is shot, sounds like some one is holding a file to the rotor. at least I got the new cobra hubs for the brake conversion

no, I could touch the rotor, wasn't to hot. I turn it side to side when I'm driving and it goes away when I swing it to the right

do not remember, been awhile since i last changed a hub on a mark....im sure someone else would chime in with proper torque, if not i can look it up on mitchell when i get to work tommorow

You know when I did both of mine I set mine up for 200lbs. And it was tight at first. If you did everything right it should loosen up and a few miles of driving.

check and see if the dust shield on the back of the rotor isn't touching the rotor.
that'll make the exact sound you describe.

Usually its more of a "winter tire" or "big truck" tire sound, should not sound like a file to the rotor. XLRVIII is probably right or the caliper is just dragging a bit on the rotor lip.

or maybe something stuck between the dust shield and the rotor, ive seen when people get screws in there before just from them jumping in there off the road i guess, even seen rocks stuck in them too, did you install squeeler taps on the pads when you installed them last?

From the Factory shop manual:

188-254 Lb-Ft

I use a 1/2" Torque wrench. If you don't have one, you can probably borrow one from Autozone.

I also have to replace a front wheel bearing.....rockauto shows timken, national and skf. I have always tried to use timken bearing when I have replaced regular bearings, but with this being a hub I am confused about timken being the cheapest.

Whats the difference between the three, and which should I go with.

I'd definitely get the Timken. ;)
