Need some serious help....

Ok,

I've got this kind of loud humming noise coming from my passenger side(I believe). From about 0mph to 25mph it is almost unnoticable. Above that up to about 70mph it is almost unbearable. However if I am on a curve doing about 65ish where the load is transfered to the driver side the noise is muted and compares to that noise made between 0 and 25mph.

2 months ago I replaced the hub bearing. I understand that some of this noise may be related to the wear that it is causing on the tire, but the unevenness is really hard to see. Obviously I will need a new tire, but there is something causing this tire to wear faster than the rest.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to start? I've been flirting installing all new shocks as I have roughly 74k miles on the car. The car is an 05 LSE. The alignment has been checked 3 times; twice by the dealership and once by an independent shop. Again, any help would be appreciated.

did you pack your bearings, not trying to be a dick but i mean i cant think of any other reason it would do that.

are you serious? it's a sealed bearing.

Had the same issue, thought it was the bearing that was being loaded, I was wrong. It was the opposite side, when the load came off the bearing, it made noise.
Change the bearing that you did not change.

Yes it is a sealed bearing - no greasing. Jack the car up and see if there is any play in the bearing or other suspension components first.

Also rotate the tires just to rule out you dont have a bad tire. I would start there. After replaceing the hub bearing did the noise completley go away until now?

When I diagnose bearings I ususally slalom the car going about 30MPH to see where it's coming from. Just find a good open road or big parking lot and go from there. Do you know any mechanics with chasis ears?

good advice, but you wont always have slop in the bearing. I always change bearings in pairs, this if one bearing is bad, the second wont be far behind.

+1. Same thing happened to me. The good thing is, the part numbers are identical for both front wheel bearings. If you kept the one you pulled, you can install it in place of the bad bearing on the other side. Might as well try it to see. I mean, it's only a half hour job.

I replaced the passenger side bearing with a new bearing, noise remained, installed the old passenger side bearing onto the drivers side, noise eliinated.

Found the plastic cover on the backof the hub was cracked, water leaked into the bearing causing premature failure.
