So I just ordered a Nikon N5000 cemera to treat myself since i been workin a bit hard lately. Will be shooting much much more pictures of the Lincoln with it (like didnt have enough already, ha).

So sit tight and wait. Should be havin it in next week.

Nice score, Artur. As far as the Canon vs Nikon debate, they both are excellent brands, and are just as capable of taking the same quality photos. In fact, a master photographer can perhaps utilize some of the settings on the Nikon to take a better pic.

I myself shoot Canon. But that's only because I was able to buy a Rebel XT with kit lens, all manuals, cd's, etc. with the original box and receipt, in excellent condition, for $325 shipped. And I won't be changing, since I have since sunk about another $800 into glass. I have so far:

Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens (came with camera)
Canon 70-210 f4 zoom lens
Canon 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 USM IS
Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5
Canon 50mm f1.8 prime lens

It's addicting once you get into buying lenses, so be careful! Money goes quick lol.

Well, one thing that will stand out at first is how little zoom a real lens has. I was used to the giant reach of point and shoot cameras. Not so on a DSLR. A DSLR doesn't use the "10x" zoom number. it goes in mm. The higher number, the further the reach. There are pro's and cons to using zoom lenses (28-135mm for example) versus a "prime" lens (50mm for example).

I am still a novice, so I will just leave it at this. I don't know of any nikon forums, but I try to frequent a forum dedicated to Canon. There is TONS of knowledge to gain from reading a lot of the basics.

I'll pm you a couple links to some GREAT beginner advice. It explains the basic features of DSLR photography, and what some of those things (aperture, f stops, ISO, etc.) mean.
