I usually drive my V8 2005 Ls, in automatic. I tried recently doing the manual shifting, and I shift really poorly because it just feels wierd without the clutch. But lately in automatic, it shifts pretty rough arond 40-50 mph...kind of like a little jerk. I just recently had the tranny flushed and serviced...wierd. I read somewhere that if you ride in manual, the car learns your driving style and adjusts according so. Is this the case? How do I reset it to factory conditions? Any suggestions on this tranny being so harsh? It only has 60k, and I drive it like a cream puff most of the time.

The automatic transmission is constantly adapting to the way you drive, it remembers the last (approximately) 10 shifts regardless of auto or select shift. To reset to default, disconnect the negative battery cable for about 1/2 hour.

Does it shift into reverse normally, delayed, or harsh?

Joe, sometimes it is harsh in reverse. Especially on a hill, and it will drive in reverse as if I had a foot on the gas, which I won't yet.

Also, sometimes when I put it in drive, it takes off as if I got my foot on the gas. Faster/stronger, than usual sometimes.

90+% your solenoid assembly in the transmission needs to be replaced.

Would I have to remove the whole tranny for that? I got a place with a lift machine on Fort Campbell I can take it too. If it's right on the bottom of the car, that shouldn't be a problem.
