Not everyone and by the way that is a grille. Grill is what you do to meat and vegetables using heat.

That's all I use. Kingsford charcoal, kingsford lighter fluid

Try a charcoal "chimney" with paper to start, works faster, and evenly with out any lighter fluid fumes or taste when in a hurry.

And yes we are talking GRILL here.

I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion :D

When we had charcoal we had one of those and it worked GREAT! Since we were having trouble finding charcoal in the winter we switched to gas.

I've had my Weber for YEARS. I've tried gas grilling a couple times, and while it's nicer for controlling temps, the flavor just wasn't there.

Around here, Charcoal is available year round. In fact, I just grilled a couple nice ribeyes a two nights ago. It always feels weird grilling out on the deck, surrounded by snow, and wearing a winter jacket.

Ford car, Ford charcoal :D

Little known fact about Henry Ford, very good.

"The charcoal briquette was first invented and patented by Ellsworth B. A. Zwoyer of Pennsylvania in 1897[1] and was produced by the Zwoyer Fuel Company. The process was further popularized by Henry Ford, who used wood and sawdust byproducts from automobile fabrication as a feedstock. Ford Charcoal went on to become the Kingsford Company." Wikipedia

Nothing can beat a good old charcoal grill...Everything taste better when you grill it...& not with gas...it kills the flavor.I just had some butterfly shrimp on the grill...DAMN! THAT WAS GOOD!

I use the smoking chips, which helps a lot with the flavor. We had the same Happy Hooker grill for almost 7 years. Then we moved to our current house and the movers lost two of the three legs. That's when I got fed up with the fight to find charcoal from October to March and made the switch to gas. I ran out of gas once, then wised up and bought 2 tanks.

This is what you need!

Thanks for the photo of the "chimney" for starting charcoal.

If you can think a head and buy two tanks of propane, then you can think a head stock up on charcoal in the fall, a few 25lbs bags is well worth it.

Wood chips and gas is a second option better than gas alone but still not as good as charcoal. IMHO

I'm surprised the grill/grille discussion has not come up before, both interesting.

We grill 5 or 6 times a week. At the time we were going through a bag a week. It's different now, but 15 years ago stores around here quit selling charcoal around October and didn't start up again until march or April. I would have needed a storage unit to store enough charcoal!!

Agreed, there is nothing like a charcoal grilled steak!!!

Especially seasoned properly. My mix that I've worked on for quite some time now is getting really damn good. I always take offense when someone asks for A1 or something before even trying the steak.

Or better yet ketchup.

As long as we eat unhealthy red meat like steak, cooked over carcinogenic fire, I use salt.......lots of salt......my mouth is watering now.

It is never to cold to grill, drink beer, or have ice cream. :D

i agree besides that a1 tastes really bad... not sure why you would ruin a steak with it....
