Removing Chrome window trim gen1

Does anybody know how to remove the chrome window trim on a gen 1. my car is a 2000 sport but i dont think that matters... the reason i want to remove it is so that i can paint it black to match the rest of my car, kinda going for a murdered out look without going over the top.

just use the 3m tape ,its alot easier.There are a few threads on it.

I agree, I did this on my Gen 1. Used the TrimBrite product. I think it took two rolls and it really looks great. Chrome trim is still there but covered with the black out tape. I think I posted in a thread about the product. Then you won't mess up your car by pulling the chrome off.

BTW, the chrome blacked out looks great on the Gen 1's.

hmm.....maybe I should make mine black..combine with maybe making the side mirrors black for a full black-flush look
