I have unlocked my stock nav and can input addresses on the move..... I mean my passenger can, safety first
Thanks to joegr for pointing out which wire was the VSS wire. It is very a easy mod. The VSS switch wire connects to the dvd nav map player in the trunk. It is found on the 24 pin connector and it is white with a green stripe. All you need to do is connect a switch to the VSS wire and turn it off when you want to use the locked functions while moving. You can also find it closer to the drivers side I think but joegr only told me about the one on the 24 pin connector because that is where my switch wires started.
When you turn the VSS off with the switch, it will make your position on the nav stay the same as if you were not moving and will continue from that point when tuned back on.Your location will be updated after driving 100-200 feet with it on. When I first tested it and turned it off and back on, I was driving through houses according to the nav, tripped me out. The nav takes about 3 seconds to unlock itself once the switch has been turned off. Its not a plug n play fix like some kits offered for other vehicles, but it does the job.
