I fixed the gen1 rim that had the dent on the lip. Used a torch, hammer and grinder. Well now its fixed and I am trying to paint the little damged part. I have already bought 2 different silver rim paint and they are both off. They are too dark and too metallic. Anybody painted one of the gen1 17'' 5 spoke silver rims before? What brand of paint and color did you use?

If you're good you can use 2 different spray can colors to match it up better.
Get a basecoat on and then after it tacks up a bit alternate colors spraying a mist from a distance.
I used this technique to paint my A Pillar guage pod when I couldn't match a color and it came out great.

I tried that but the paint I have is either too dark or too shiny. Really noticeable. Its an area of about 3x4 inches. I have 5 different silver color that I tried and couldn't match it right.

You could use some scotchgard or steel wool to cut down the glossiness.

yeah I'll try that. I'm probably just going to go to a difference paint store so see more variety. I was just trying to see if anyone knew of a paint that matched up pretty good. Thanks man

you could repaint all of the wheels, then the color and finish would be exactly the same

Yeah could do that but thats a lot of work too and was what I was trying to avoid.Plus, the durability on stock paint beats whatever I'll use by a long shot, I dont want to go and strip the good paint and give it some good looking crappy paint that wont last me that long.
