I sold my 98 XJ8 to buy my Mark and I always like to keep a little something from my old cars. Well this time I kept the key fob.
I got to lookin and they were the same size and shape. So I popped them both open and they are almost an exact fit, the two chips although looks wise were a bit different the button locations and functions were the same. So about 2 minutes later I switched the chips and they work great. The battery locations were different, the Jaguar stacks two batteries on top of eachother and the Linc lays them side by side so I had to use the back of the Linc remote to match the chip, but it snaps right together like they were made for eachother.
One might think this is a dumb thing to do, but I never liked the Lincoln remote, its just too plain to be for a Lincoln and it creates some questions from people who see it.
By The Way, Does anyone know what the middle button in the second row between the alarm and trunk buttons do in that first pic?
