My local tire shop told me they needed to be replaced soon but they dont doit cause Lincoln uses some kind of sensor. Plus I've been hearing a noise up front every time I hit a bump. How hard and what do I need to replace these? Any help would be great. Thanks.

You just need to get the right UCA.
It has a mount for your air ride sensor.
Do a search on how to do it.
Its not hard just takes time.

correct for an upper ball joint replacement you change out the entire upper control arm.

There is nothing tricky about the sensor, it just pops off the ball stud on the upper control arm, {no tools required) tell your mechanic hes a wuss.

You could reach under there and pull it off in 9 seconds if he's "that afraid of it".

You can get upper control arms on ebay for 99.00 I changed mine out in 2-3 hours. It is kinda a pain on the drivers side you can get it with a long 17mm wrench. You will need a pry bar to open the thing the ball joint goes into. I would recommend changing your sway bar bushing while you got it tore apart. There are 2 bolt on the wheel well and remove the highth sensor, its pretty easy just time consuming.
