HIR's are a waste of money. If you want hallogens buy silverstars, if you want HID's Buy HID's.

I bought HIR's a couple years ago and was VERY dissapointed and I think you will be too.

Try these!

The low beam is HID and the fog is a 9005 Halogen Xenesis!

Perfect HID match, literally!

Dont do HIR's and Silverstars blow!

hey just is the foglight suppose to be kinda yellow because if so then yes they look good. Now if they are suppose to be matching the low beam then they are not identical at all. I use to buy all the hid lookalike halogens but now would never go back from the real deal.

They are perfect! It was a cell phone pic, plus the housing on the low beam is different so the yellow light gets scattered more evenly throughout it with it being round in shape. In the fogs its a bit more confined and concentrated.

Also, the angle has a bit to do with it.

Trust me, its perfect!

Wait, is that a retrofit HID? My 06 has the factory HIDs and they look more bluish than that.

Yeah, my Highlander came with a kit from the previous owner. It has the same low beams and high beams but the fogs are also low beams rather than high beams/9145 like ours so to see how good these bulbs are I placed them in my LS to compare.

Its 6000k.

Don't get me wrong they are bright, but they still look yellow compared to the low beam. No halogen bulb will look JUST like a HID bulb. They are two different styles.

I dont know how you think its more yellow!

Its honestly the shape of the reflector behind the bulb. It looks that way cause it cant reflect it in the same direction as the circular shaped shield so its more concentrated. I also got down low to take the shot. If you think by the second pic it still dont match you need to adjust the contrast on your monitor.

I guess you have to see it in person to believe it. Its also on a Samsung Behold camera phone!

Oh, and another thing is that its not the same type of bulb as the low. Its a 9005 so it dont have the painted tip unlike the 9006 and the 9145's!

I cant really say I see it but if you are maybe thats why.

Ok slick, I went out tonight with my Cyber Shot and found a parking deck and took this one just for you!

Now, tell me that does not match!

I was looking around online for a price on these bad boys. Apparently John Deere uses them in some of their tractors' lights.

Heres the part number for it, its the 9011 I believe. Its called HIR1 actually, but its the same as a 9011.

Heres a diagram on how to change them to 9005/9006 size

And that is the reason why they will NEVER look identical. No HID bulb uses a colored tip to get the color of the bulb. They get the color from the temperature they are. Like I said two totally different styles. They look good and bright though.

Your missing the point!

Its not about not looking the same, they do look the same how ever they dont have the distance as the HIDs. But, when using a non HID housing it sucks and has a horrible scatter anyway and waste lots of out put so its no where near as smooth. These bulbs for that fact do get close to HID out put in non HID housings.

They are designed to give the look of HID with a halogen like bulb how ever they do surpass most halogens out there plus HIR and are 100x's brighter than my Nokya's which beat the :q:q:q:q out of Silverstars and fit just under the PIAA's.

I'll have to take another shot from the side or behind the wheel. A few shots so I can show you that they have almost the same out put as HIDs in a non HID housing.

Now HID in a proper housing or even better in a projector is a different story.

I agree on the those bulbs looking the best out of all the halogens I have ever seen.

What is the difference between the HID lense and non-HID lense? The reflector on the inside???

My HID's will span more than two lanes wide on the highway and I can be about two car lengths behind someone and see my lights in front of their car.
