Hey guys, got some pics for you. Hit a deer a couple nights ago right around 9. The pics are painful to me but the damage really isn't all that bad. Although got it quoted at $5,900 to fix (although insurance is covering it). Taking it into the body shop tomorrow and crossing my fingers that the rental car is decent.

Anyways, feel free to post pictures of your bent up LS.

Also, have any of you used an opportunity to upgrade your LS? (example: install the LSE grill) If so please share.

Sorry to hear about that poor car! I hope you got out and beat the rotten corpse with a tire iron.
 
Yea see if the body shop will do an entire front end LSE sawp. You might have to pay for the other headlight but that's a cheap swap out.
 
Yea you can totally see the truck there in the other pictures. Look @ the sun reflection going through the window on the wall in the garage (unless that's from the LS?). And as pektal just pointed out, the mirror is right there.

Everytime I see someone super analyze a picture it kills me! How does everyone tear these pictures apart like this? Its so funny. Like people will notice a mountain in a building window or a chevelle in the background.. its priceless. Like everyone always notices the little stuff in the background but that mirror one is funny like someone looked at the 2 pictures and said to themself, "By God, the trucks gone! Or is it.. I will not rest until the truth is known!" and then they proceed in a "Whats different?" game frame of mind between the 2 flicks until they notice the slightly protruding mirror.. High five to you for solving this obviously fake illusion! ha.

Oh yeah.. The words "truck mirror" with the arrow had me rolling. Like someone actually saved the pic then opened it in paint so they could edit it haha funny..

I knew to just let the comment about the truck go as something comical would come out of it.

It was too dark to get a picture. I did not keep it. Bruised meat = bad meat.
 
Yeah, I had to look at the pics again, because I didn't even notice the absence of the truck from one photo to another.
 
5900?! I know that LS stuff is expensive, but when you start getting up into the 5k+ range, you should be talking some frame straightening or replacing 4 or more body panels.

It "appears" that you're going to need a hood, right quarter panel, grill, facia, and headlight assembly, and possibly some inner fender well stuff.

Unless there's more damage under the hood to the engine wells, I'd be really surprised that the cost would be so high.

I worked in a body shop a LONG time ago when I was in high school and college, so maybe my figuring is a little out of date.

I would have at least cut off its tail or something to put on my antenea to serve as a warning for other deer:D

That's about right, although I don't have the detailed quote that lists and prices all of the needed parts in front of me.

What shocked me the most is that a replacement HID headlight assembly costs $1,400.00 :eek:
 
Yep. There's a guy on here selling a PAIR of stock hid assemblies for 400. MIght want to go that way, and pocket the extra GRAND.
