Exhaust tip options

Hey LSers,
Many of you have custom exhaust systems, and I am looking to go the same route here in a week or two. It would be very helpful to me or anyone else considering this mod to have a bunch of pictures to look at. Flipping through a magazine with page after page of exhaust tips does nothing for me, I have to see them on the car.
The grille option thread was so helpful to me, and considering exhaust is another popular mod....why not?

your grilles came out pretty good too, i havent seen anyone do the top grille like that, nice job!

i did do cutouts to fit the tips. gen 1's don.t have any cutouts stock. they are 3.5" angle cut rolled tips.

What is the diameter of the stock pipe at the tip? Basically, if I buy tips, what size diameter does the inlet need to be?

Not to bring up an old thread, but I can't find any answers. I'm currently looking for exhaust tips..as in I am sitting here with my credit card looking on jegs and summit but I am not sure what will fit the stock exhaust.

I'm looking at magnaflow and flowmaster tips but most are 2.25'' inlet at the smallest. Is that too big? I read somewhere that the pipe actually only measures 1 7/8 inch. Also, what is the maximum length I can get?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
