I kow this has been asked but I wanted to see if anyone is currently using this set up and what they think. I currently have 235/50/17 on stock 17 inch wheels. I can get a set of 235/55/17 Pirelli's for $299.

Questions is, would this change in size look good, ride good, and not cause any computer issues with the car? I certainly like the $299 price over what the 235/50/17 would cost.

Thanks in advance

They will be taller, so your speedo will read low, and the faster you go, the farther off it will be--eg, your speedo may read 25mph when you're doing 25mph, but read 65mph when you're going closer to 70mph. IIRC, 245/45R17 will keep you closer to the stock diameter while gaining you more tire choices at better prices.

will that little of a diffrence change it that much? i thought i read somewhere a few years ago that a 1 inch diffrence from stock tire and wheel size will only make like a 1/6 diffrence in mph. im not exactly sure on those numbers buti think they were something like that.

It's not THAT big of a difference. But the tires will look a lot bigger.

Unless you want a high performance tire Id stay away from Pirelli. They either stick to the road like glue and wear out in a year (sometimes less), or last ten years with no grip at all.

225/60/17 are what I have. Looks great, especially for the price tag on the tires. I'll post some pics as soon as I can

if you arent trying to drasticly improve ride handling and just want to replace worn tires just get the same one. they have some kuhmo ecstas on tire rack for like 60 a tire i believe. size is 235 45 17. price might have gone up but check them out they are pretty good. pirellis sound good too tho.
