i dont know if its a gen 2 problem or what. this is the first and only one i've ever driven. It just takes way to much work to change from park all the way down.. When i did the blend door i lubed as much as i could on the shifter mechanism. any idea's?

Shifter cable. also if the pipe under the car is bigger then stock or not double walled like oem it can melt the inerds of the cable. Put a heat shield around it.

just keep it simple to diagnose it. disconnect the linkage from the shifter lever and see how the shifter moves, if thats ok hook the linkage back to the shifter and pop it off at the trans and then see how the shifter moves. ive seen the cable go, the trans bind up and the shifter assy bind up so anything is possible, and as for lubing the cable, ive never seen it work, just replace it.

i see it all the time at work, where pop has been spilled and it eventually works its way down to the pivot point of the shifter and make a gooey mess, making the shifter hard to move.
