Installing Shocks and Struts

ok i would just do it myself im weird about who works on my car take a sunday after noon and a 12pk
It's definitely doable if you know the difference between a box and open end wrench. Mark one of the bolts, and it's position, before removal. That will make installation much easier. Also, if the LS has the old front anti-sway bar you can undo one link at a time. If you have the newer bar with the molded-on bushings you will need to undo both sides prior to releasing the shocks. The rears are a little more difficult. The shock/spring assembly will come out, you just have to twist while removing it. It takes some patience so don't force it. Two of us can do all 4 in just over an hour.
i thought about doing it myself except for the danger of a spring compressor. If it slips off, it could shoot to the moon.
As far as someone working on my car. I trust my dealership since i use to work there and have a buddy who does. I did think $285 is a little steep. About $72 per shock

Pep Boys told me almost $600 for all 4 on an 03 Sport v8
