Folding Mirror Question

In my LS's bulletproof trunk
I'm interested in getting a set of the 2nd gen LS folding mirrors. I was under the impression that all 2nd gens came with the folding mirrors, however all of the 2nd gen cars I've found that are being parted out have the solid mirrors. Does anyone know if there was only a specific year that the LS had these or whether or not it was just an option on the 2nd gens?
 
Folding Mirrors

Folding mirrors were an option starting in 2003. The V-6 "Premium" and V-8 "Premium Sport" had folding mirrors stock. They also had the wood steering wheel and shift knob. The folding mirrors also have the puddle lights like the fixed mirrors.
Weird stuff: My folding mirror on the passenger side has the "Things look closer than they are" written in Arabic on the mirror!!

Maybe it's a joke the arabs are playing on you. Maybe it doesn't say "objects are closer than they appear." Maybe it says "I'm thuper, thankth for athking"
 
Well, you could be correct because I sure can't understand what's printed!!

My 06 has folding, but my 04 does not. I do recall the sticker on the 04 saying something about it having a special appearance package and mentioning the mirrors as part of that.
 
The folding mirrors were an option. Standard with certain packages.
 
what i would like to know is if there is a way to get the power folding mirrors from the S-type on the LS. You would think there is a fuse available for that option. In fact i think i remember reading a similar question before on this issue. mine is a 03 v8, i have folding already anyways, but i think it would be a cool feature to have. I know the Mark LTs have them on the 07's
 
As many on here have said, as well as many others before them; if you've got a big enough bankroll, anything can be done.

I honestly thought folding mirrors on the LS were silly. It's not like we do much rock crawling in tight places in them.

Maybe THAT'S why there is a fuse in my fuse box for "Power Folding Mirrors"
Also in my manual.

I think I was the one who had a thread with that question.

How many of you are actually folding them and for what reason? Im parking in various parking lots everyday and have never felt the need to fold them. Just seems to be a hassle to walk around the car to fold/unfold them when you get in. To me it seems like a useless function unless they are power folding.

All honesty, if I'm going into a store I park at the far end of the lot and make the half mile hike to the store. I'm more concerned with door dings than having a mirror knocked off.
 
My LS is parked in a pretty tight 2 car garage, so sometimes there's issues with backing out and worrying about hitting the mirrors. Although I haven't ran my mirror into the opening yet, my mom has in her car a few times (it has the folding mirrors) and my mirrors have scraped against her car several times. Power mirrors would be great but the normal folding will do, unless someone comes up with a fab for the power mirrors soon.
 
I wanted them because it tears up the door pretty bad if you smack the fixed mirror into anything. The folding ones give away and it might break the mirror but your door/window won't be damaged!

I fold mine when I park downtown, park in a parking garage and any type of hotel/restaurant parking.
 
wish i could get a pear of the japanes power folding mirrior from the j-spec ls that would be so bad @ss
