I so i'm driving today...and anytime I seem to floor it my engine will "misfire" when getting into 2nd gear (happened twice). I then on my way home up hill as I'm turning the whole car turns off when hitting that 2nd gear (tranny light, battery light, oil light) then loose all power steering and the engine/tranny aren't responding...I'm moving a damn rock in an uphill turn...so i turned the car off after pulling to the side of the road...and then the car was completely fine.

I would be guessing it's either a problem with my battery or spark plugs (spark plugs seem to be the misfire when under full throttle) but help yourselves to suggestions or if you've experienced these problems (And my car just hit 90021 miles :/

not in the moody today.....cause it's too dark out and i don't have the tools to check if the battery is about dead or if it's possibly another problem...it's working fine now but i'm sure once i floor it again the car will shut off....

other posibilities... Clogged fuel line, fuel filter, injecters. Try the cheapest fix first, get some gas treatment and declogger.

did it again on my way to the store...it stalled at about 4000rpms....... this this is gonna be a nuisance all weekend...thankfully both my jobs are down the street......

but I got fuel filter changed last month, fuel line was taken care of too.....

I would assume this stalling (not misfires) are being caused by the battery...even so often the interior lights fake a little at start when starting the car......quite the odd experience for me :/

my guess is the tranny, thats the same symptoms i had, full tranny rebuild... $6500 but i had a warranty

Sounds electrical to me. I would replace your battery if it's old, even if it doesn't fix the problem it's something that needs to be replaced anyways.

Coils. How hard did you try to get it to pull to 4,000 rpms? Did you slam it? If your coils are bad and you put the car under heavy enough load it could stall out. Mine did a few times.

ya it seems to stall when I slam it.....if I drive "normal" it hasn't had a problem....

Get on a highway but just cruise around town for a bit first. Dont put the foot in totally-drive normal.

Then try to get it up to higher RPMs on the highway and see if it bucks.

I'll give it a try this afternoon then take it back home to sit til I get some ignition coils...

your welcome :P

Btw i talked with my buddy today (work on Fords) and he says my problem is either the Alternator or Ignition Coils so I'm taking it to his shop monday :-D
