My old radiator had a crack in it right above the tranny cooler line on the bottom. i think its the sending line not sure though.

Anyway I put on a radiator personaly. 3 weeks ago. Today i see a small puddle of coolant on the ground. there seems to be a crack in this radiator now also on the driver side bottom of the radiator.

I started checking the fittings and hoses and, i notice that the cooler line that plugs into the bottom of the radiator, is pinched. Could this be why my radiators cracked? because of backed up pressure?
how much is this to replace?

I was hoping to get some advice from some of the gorus here, so that i dont go to a shop some where and get raped.
any info is appreciated.

Just use an LBX 20 autocannon on it. ;)

The bottom tranny oil line at the radiator should be the return, IIRC.

Pictures, because I can't figure out what you're saying.

And no gorus here... Just a couple of Gurus. :D

lol. yeah my spelling sucks... anyway though.
well ill see if i can get some pics. its just the return line has a pinch in it like it has been squeezed with some pliers so im pretty sure the flow is restricted.

The bottom line is where the transmisison fluid enters the radiator's heat exchanger. Since you said that's where the pinch is, any resulting pressure build-up would be in the line, not the radiator.

it could just be a crappy radiator. i have a cust at work with a 88 Taurus (with 220k!!!!) and he blew his radiator this winter. ford discontinued it long ago and all we could get was napa, well thew first 3 leaked the 4th one finally worked. the biggest problem is where the side tanks attach to the radiator, they just bend some aluminum tabs over the tank and thats is, its a common problem on most fords
