I am sure there are threads on most of this stuff but I am outside tearing into the parts car right now and just have a few questions. So if anyone can give me a quick answer or link me to the correct thread I would appreciate it.

First, does anyone have a clue as to the size of the small screws that hold the Advancetrac module? The have a star shaped head and I can't get at them with a pliers or anything so I will probably have to go buy the tool for that.

Is there anyone who has just dropped the transmission by itself? Can it be done easily or do I have to get the engine off of its mounts and lifted a little? I haven't had a chance to really look but if I pull the drive shaft, drop the cross member, and unbolt the bell housing will I just be able to slide it back and out?

How do you undo the throttle cable from the intake? It is hard to reach or see in there and I was told to just twist it kind of but which way?

That's all I can think of at the moment. If I run into any other issues I'll post them. Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Should I do write-ups on any of the things I am taking apart and putting back together? I am planning a write-up on my engine swap but that's about it for now. Input on any write-ups you guys think we should have on here and I will do them.

Do it!! Can't hurt. I know one of the other guys is doing a picture tear down on here with his LS on timing. I think people can relate to pics better than just words.

Yeah but I'm not going to do a write-up, with pics, on how to disassemble the entire car! I was just asking if there was any specific things that forum members would like a write up on.

Plus I have another question. What is the easiest way to get at the alternator?! I am so used to the alternator being towards the top of the engine!

Well yeah, who says you can't have fun with people.
I got de-motivational posters too :-D

"Life is a joke, how serious will you take it?"

Haha, yeah I've seen them. I do laugh at most of your stuff. You think Sheboygan is funny huh? You should hear people try to say it and most of the other towns here in WI because most of them are or originated from Indian names.

Indian names eh? Where can I find "Danceswithhookers"? I got some extra bucks to spend :-D

and sheboygan is pretty easy to say: sheh- boi- gah- n

Oh sure, I hear you.

The only way is to take off the passenger side splash shield underneath. There are three bolts holding the alternator on. They are easy to get to. I think they are 14mm. After the bolts and the main lead are disconnected, you turn the alternator a bit to disconnect the electrical connector. Then twist it around until it comes out. It's pretty easy.

That shouldn't be a problem!

(If you don't get it, find Falecf4's other threads with pics of the car..)

True, mine is busted up pretty bad too. I think I am pulling engine parts off of my car so that I don't have to swap them over later when I put in the engine from your car.

Hey Randatola, I has a sweet video that I will be putting up soon. You know how it took us 2 hours to get it on the trailer, well, it took 3 to get it off! You'll love how we moved it once we got it on the ground.

try not to cut things... like wire. Someone somewhere always has an interest in a wiring harness.

Well wiring harness on the front pass side is SHREDDED! Other than that I don't cut anything. I love how easily the connectors come apart in the LS. I'm used to the older cars where you have to pry up the tab and usually end up breaking it.

Oh, next question. What is the computer module in the trunk for?

Pete are you a stand-up comedian or something? Most of your posts are jokes.

I was just in sheboygan! Got in Friday afternoon, left saturday afternoon. Had to stop and see a couple friends on my way home from Arkansas... Not really on my way home, but it was closer to detour on the way than drive from my place.

Do you work for Kohler?

Oh, next question. What is the computer module in the trunk for?

The REM (Rear Electronics Module) runs the fuel pump, reads fuel tank level, operates all the rear lights, works the rear power windows, and probably a few things that I am forgetting.

All I have to say is:
