So I come out this morning and get into the 94 to go to work.....turn the key, it cranks fine but doesn't start..i shut it off...try it again cranks....i feather the pedal...nothing....i check the fuel shutoff switch nothing...now yesterday when i started the car it was a little bit rough for a second then fine.....and when idiling I heard a humming noise coming from under the hood..sounded like the fuel pump....but i know thats in the tank...... anyone have this problem??? could it be the fuel pump??

My guess is it may have been the crank sensor and you flooded it. Never touch the pedal on an fuel injected car. But you CAN press the pedal ALL the way down, that will kill the injectors until you let it back.

If you start to have more hard starts, long start or no starts then there is indeed a 99% chance its the crank sensor. Fuel pumps *usually* give give up and die.

unplug the crank sensor and plug it back in... then see if the car starts
