Unsticking IMRC's by hand?

The knock sensors don't even touch the timing in the first two gears..?

actually it did ADD 4 degree's of timing in I belive 1st gear.

That may be one of the problems you are working against.
The tuner put a positive value in the knock sensor retard scalar.

This isn't wrong, many people do it.. but.. in your case..either too much available spark or not enough fuel is not making the car happy.

If you had the PRP, y ou could remove that positive value from the KS adder then "sneak up" on a "max spark value".

hope this helps....

Ok I'll try bumping it up to 10% this weekend sometime.

And yeah I saw that the knock sensors were reading a positive value on the log, but it doesn't look like they actually added any spark in when looking at the final spark delivered? The spark was around 27 degrees both when the KS values were at 0 and when they were at +4.5.

What about spark source though? I'm not sure, but I think I remember hearing somewhere that it should stay at 2 when you're WOT, yet mine stays at 1.

And the fuel pump duty cycle mystery is solved. Here's a quote from another forum: "duty cycle is always at 100% on a return style car unless it has a pump controller or the bastard 2 speed system some for cars and trucks had from 96 on up.

Pressure will fall off if u are running out of pump or the system is inadequate."

when looking or wondering about "source values" such as "spark source" or "fuel source".

Look in the help section of Livelink, there is alot of good useful information.

"

the 97-98's do have that "bastard two speed pump".
