But I think what he's saying is tint has nothing to do with inspections.
 
What I am saying is that from what I have gathered inspection stations look passed that and no longer handle that line of work. they wont fail you for tint.


This may be something that varies, or I may be wrong but again what I gathered is that inspection shops dont bother with tint any more.

So pay the money to re register the car in NY. Seems like you don't care how much you may have to bribe someone, so just spend the money legitimately on re registering the car.
 
+1, sooner or later it will catch up to you and they will tell you that you need to register it if you are a resident.

BTW, Silver screams "I am way faster than green"!:p

Thing is Werner in Nj they take the tint very serious so i hear. But anyway i appreciate the help man.
 
StuieGots is right. They can and will fail you for tint. My buddy just picked up a used Armada and didn't get it tinted until after he got it inspected.

pssst! Im just moving out of Jersey;) I never had a problem with all four and the rear.
 
In Brooklyn fugetaboutitt i used just pay the guy and that was it. Jersey on the otha hand man you got betta luck winning the lotto.
 
I would tell you a place to go buts its all the way down in Phillipsburgh.
 
Wheres that? At this point im willing to drive becouse i hear if you remove tint it messes up your window or something?

Werner, yours looks like silver frost? Mines Silver Birch. The new guy's also looks like birch. Has an ever so slight gray/purple tint at sunset.

no its just the picture. my brothers' '00 is frost and there is a very noticable difference. you can see his in the background of my avatar. i edited the photo becuase it was a little dark. need to take new pics with the springs in. needs a wee bit of cleaning first though!
 
WTF? Sorry to thread jack, how rare is the birch in first gen non LSE's?

StuGots55, I used to get mine done at what was formerly Ford World. I know they changed since then. Its right on 22about a mile or so before you hit PA.

Im actually transferring my title to PA asap to avoid any problems. I also do not want to move back to NJ either so....:D
 
Yea mines Silver Birch color code JP i belive. i love silver tho. my buddy has a nice black lse.. man that things a bird poop magnet for some strange resion. But all you guys have some nice cars. Like that color on yours Nycls8 never seen it befor.

Ive seen a few ls's around brooklyn. A black one i belive a member here. and and buch other white ones. I live in bensonhurst and not much but bunch of bimmers and mercedes and caddys rollin around.

Mine is non-sport (LSE) and it's Silver Birch (JP code)......maybe you're just delusional!

No I said the sport was an LSE in case ppl didn't understand me when I said my LS is a NON SPORT. So I just had to make sure to post LSE right after non-sport.....
