Those center speakers barely add anything to the experience even with the correct headunit. With the wrong headunit (without any center channel output) they will just distort the stereo image. Instead of improving things, they will make the sound worse, but do as you please.

if you have the amp mounted to the plastic housing under your rear glass, then you have the subs, or should i say the two 6x9 bass speakers.

the factory subs are in you rear deck lid, i saw them in the pictures you posted in your trunk opening thread

only 1st gens have the plastic sub enclosure, the 2nd gens just have the subs mounted right to the metal with no enclosure, the amp is still there as well, just screwed to the bottom of the read deck

as for stopping...I could....but where would the fun be in that? but maybe if I was asked politely....i could cut out the stupid comments and stick with the...."normal" ones :P

I told him I was fooling around and told him I wasn't so serious but he needed to cool down. I did do so in the polite way he is now asking but he still didn't stop. In fact, after the PM I sent him which BTW is the mature way of handling things he got even more out of hand. Just put him on ignore and hope people dont quote him.

Reason being after I had checked that message that you still were bashing in the topics...it's kinda like shaking hands with someone then putting a "kick me" sign on their back. That's why I took your PM as sarcasm......and to which I never replied back :/


And noone ever ASKED for me to stop posting stupid or rediculous post....as far as the posts I've seen it's more of a "shut the :q:q:q:q up" responses....so....a please/thank you could easily of stopped this at day one....just cause I'm possibly a sociapath doesn't mean I don't have manners....I just enjoy stirring drama....it's entertaining :P

Not really. It will be better even with the factory radio, but 100x better with an aftermarket radio.
I had a small amp kicking around so I bought some kappa 3.5's. I notice the difference if they are not on. You especially notice the difference if you have a passenger with legs sitting next to you. I set it up so the left side plays the right channel and and right side plays left channel.

No driving condition makes the sound degrade.

Im not sure if a previous post was correct about what years have a sub enclosure. my brother's '00 alpine had an enclosure and my '02 alpine did not. i pulled those "subs" and put in some 2-ways.
 
My 2000 LS has the speakers in the center console, and the subs in the rear deck. They aren't full range speakers, my door speakers don't work right now. So when i put the sound just to the front, all i hear is highs. When i put it to the rear all i hear is lows with no high, i have no mid range at all right now. I have the Alpine with changer in the glove box.
 
while back i took my stock subwoofer box out...the amp is attached to the bottom of the box...unhooked it and took out the mounting screws dropped right out...really increased the trunk size...the sound was really crappy with the stock system and speakers...i had it out for a week before i put it back in...i priced up aftermarket speakers to put in the stock box...too rich for my blood...the speaker size is 5x7...and there are no tweets on them...just a good mid range woofer
