I spent about 2 hours installing this dash kit. It is from woodview. It is the real wood style. I think they call it platinum burl . It is really birdseye maple with a yellowish stain on it. It has some really nice figure in the wood.

That's alot of orange.....I'd rather get a red-strained wood trim....that'd be badass....

I looked thru dozens of different kits. This was on a Lexus and an Infiniti with the same dash colors. It really pops. I just didn't want the typical LS wood trim.

It was around $300. It is over 50 pieces from Woodview. I upgraded and got real wood instead of wood like.

I was considering getting a different steering wheel...something of Audi or BMW similarity...I just HATE how the stitching stands out with my '00 LS steering wheel

i would just loose that one thin line that's about an 1-2"?... and i think it would look better. it's a little too much as of now but still i like that you went with the real wood like the 2nd gen's have oem rather than the fake one we 1st gen guys have

Personally I would have stuck with the silver, a much more sleek look... but if you like it thats all that matters, and at least you sprung for the good stuff.

And I agree with Rick, that one line across the bottom of the dash over the glove box and all the way across needs to go, it's just stuck there aimlessly and out of place.
I think i'd like it more if only the pieces that were orig. silver were wood, rather than random bits of interior like the vents and glovebox handle and such.

As for changing your steering wheel take a look at this:

http://www.wheelskins.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=e1a445d5383b29b69e6da63b0aa5ac53

I did not like the stitching pattern suggested by Wheelskins and did a running shoe lace stitch instead and preferred leather to wood on the steering wheel due to heat and cold plus the extra padding.

PS: You don't have to use every piece in the kit, too much of a good thing.

thanks man..added them to my favorites..that'll save me some hundreds of bucks from doing the steering wheel transfer
