What would you prefer as far as brand or product for Crystal White HID headlights and most likely fog lights for my 2000 LS?

Keep in mind I live in Washington and since cold weather malfunctions the Umnitza Angel Eyes I am considering just HIDs......any good brands that can stack up to the Cold/Foggy weather?

Btw, Yes I am a noob.....thanks for noticing, guys.... :/

been covered a ton....

hids witht he most light out put are 3800-4100... slight yellow tint

3k are the best for fogs.

If you want truly functional fogs get Nokya Hyper Yellow, non HIDs are the best for fogs.

And are all these just yellow. I'm going on crystal white cause that's the color I want. Plus I dislike having alot of yellow on the car (Reason why I HATE Saturns).

I thank you both with the input. Like I said...I'm sure there's plenty of threads about it......just I don't have the Patience to look through......

Just hoping to hear some helpful feed since there's a ton of projects I hope to get done this year.

Then get 6k Nokyas for the fogs but dont get HID unless you want to lose out on functionality. Ours aren't true fogs, they sit to low and are really just driving lights. I get many compliments on my 6k Nokyas as people often think they are HIDs.

If you want a crisp white I wouldn't go over 6k for any lights, I wouldn't regardless since like SPSully says you do lose out put and clarity.

Also research the brand you choose, some claim 5k pure crisp white and some claim 6k to be pure crisp white. I have seen 5ks look like 6k's and vice a versa.

I dont like Saturns, why are they a example?

You ever see all that Yellow/Amber tail lighting or from lighting? i'm more referring to the older saturns (Haven't seen any new ones).

Thanks for the suggestion and ya I should just skip on the HID fogs since I do drive the '00 LS. My plan is to get the inside of my headlights painted the same color as my car, pop off the amber lens, smoke the side markers, and get them HIDs in....

I never saw Saturns with yellow lights and amber is a US standard for the front of our cars.

I see yellow associated with Luxury vehicles and utility vehicles both as a purpose. Oh and older European cars like Mercedes and BMW's.

Ya....I dunno there's car brand I just don't like and I don't even know why.
Just for some reason I'm turned off by Saturns, Volvos, Buicks, Scion, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, and Porsche......

I have 6000K HID's in both low beams/ driving lights. I'm the one on the left:

Wow, and all this time I thought you were a human--I didn't realize we had an actual LS on the forum! :D

Personally, I prefer the lights be more to the yellow-ish than to the brilliant white/bluish. My white 4300K Xetronics HIDs do a pretty good job, but I think that's mostly because they are so much brighter than the stock halogens. For awhile, I was running the HIDs with Hoen Xenomatch bulbs, and I couldn't tell much difference when I hit the high beams--when I switched back to the OEM halogen high beams, they added significantly to the visibility.

The way it seemed to me, the whiter bulbs would illuminate anything with any amount of reflectivity (f'rinstance, when I was driving at night in west Texas, the Hoen high beams would light up signs and centerline reflectors up to a mile away), but for non-reflective surfaces, like rural asphalt streets, at times it was almost like not having lights. Halogen to halogen, the yellower lights do a much better job of illuminating the rural roads on which I drive, IMHO.

Thanks! I really need springs. I'm planning on some Intrax this spring. All depends on if I can find a 4x4 cheap enough so I can drive in the winter. Here's a couple pictures that show the wheels better:

Yeah those are sweet. Believe it or not at one time I offered 1500.00 plus shipping for those rims and I was denied. Since I have went from silver to black I have been unsure about switching to chrome for my 2nd set of wheels.
Let me know if you want to part with them, although I'm sure that won't be happening!

ooo snap

I just love how the light colored LS's always seem to reflect the environment. Mine on a clear day will look baby blue. If you're birch silver as well?

I might be sticking with the JP birch for my car or I might go with a more Platinum color. I just dunno, cause the old timer just up the block (as I found out after I bought my car) Has my same year and color. but I beat his butt in mods :-D

Pete I really don't like you now that I've seen those wheels on YOUR LS!:D I'm so jealous! I didn't have the money when those went up for sale, plus my wife would've killed me......oh the joys of marriage. Anyways on topic PetesSweets I have the 6K's for low beams and fog lights.

Why would anyone like my wheels? They are what they came with when I bought the car..just the stock alloy 16s that they came with.......

Will do. I'm in the process of repairing the damage to them (remember when the tire shop detroyed them when they belonged to 02V8Sport?)

I have to send one off to get a small bend taken care of, but the rest I can do.

I :q:q:q:q some bricks :-D

Sweet pik man, those HIDs are pretty much along the lines what I'm lookin into getting

Thanks! Mine were 125/pair from Umnitza.

Ivory Pearl Tricoat, actually. You want to see the LS reflecting it's environment? Here's a few pictures from after a detail, and an 80 dollar wax  applied completely by hand. No applicator. I put a piece of the wax in my hand, and massaged the paint so to speak.

I was very lucky to have a wheel hoarder steal them out from under me the first time. He sold them to me like a month after he bought them :D

My name is Pete as well.

Also make sure you stick with the same brand. You'll find most companies are often off from each other as far as tint/color.
