Nav Disc Qustionaire?!?

My lincoln has the 03 disk and was thinking about upgrading but dont want to spend $200 to do so... so my question is that if someone out there has the new 06 version are you able to make copies of the cd/dvd? If so I would be willing to buy one from you....other alternatives are ebay which has a few older discs...:shifty: so im kinda stuck let me know

I tried this already. Didn't work. The latest disc is a 2007 version; I would wait for the 2008 disc.

so they still continue to make the disc then?? Someone told me locally that they did away with that disc cause the newer cars have a different nav set up in the vehicle.

Go to www.navteq.com They have updated discs every couple years.

even though it has a dvd drive in the back are you able to watch movies with the drive or do you have to rewire it so it has components for video?

The map drive will not play movies. There's no way to rewire it to do so. If you must have movies on the stock nav, then you have to get a video adapter, and external DVD player, and do a lot of wiring.
