Any one here a good programmer? I'm looking forward to html and xml formats, and eventury will look into c++,

I can fix and build any pc I'd like...but I'm not too familiar with programming, like to make websites for example. With the economy in shambles I'd like to get as much info as I can.

Anyone here got any websites/books they like? I'm gonna take a programming concepts class in the spring but I want a leg uo

As far as HTML goes, learn how to create tables as thats a common standard. Also a huge majority of websites incorporate java and or flash into their sites. Photoshop is going to be another nice tool.

If you are interesting in creating applications I would suggest learning Visual Basic. It has nice GUI (Graphical User Interface) and then move to C++ since it is more difficult.

Programming languages are not easy to learn, or write. If you ever browse tech jobs you will notice that a programmers salary is quite a bit higher then lets say a system administrator, in my area atleast. Computer programming isn't for everyone and you must understand what you are writing to make it function properly. It will take time and effort.

I don't have any books to suggest, I myself don't like to read.

Great post.

When and if you get to c++ get ready to be bored out of your skull.
Work with HTML if you hate it, that is your answer if you want to program or not.

I think all hackers should be shot on site.
As far as viruses all they do is destroy stuff.
Why would you want to write that crap ?

My wife went to school for computer science and with out knowledge of C++ they wouldn't have even noticed her.

Also, one could have lots of reason to learn this stuff. I dont get why hackers and creators of nasty Viruses were even used in the title.

Getting that leg up is a very good idea trust me!

Let me ask her when we both are out of work and I'll see if I can post anything useful for you.

And xml is a piece of cake!!!
