If the power stops at the harness, get a new one or used one that works and splice it in place of the defective one.

bad bulb? switch off? 2 things that come to my mind.
i just pulled it off. the wiring for it is a mess. cant find a bulb. "do not remove. will cause shock. leave for ford proffessional" says it right on the box on the back of the panel. theres a junkyard near me that has a 98 lsc, ill probly pull that one and see if it works. if it does, ill swap lenses over.
but is there anyother reason why it wont work? im not the best with electical stuff. and if theres a switch for it, where would it be????

If you are getting power to the plug that plugs into the ballast 99% of the time its the ballast that has shorted out.
There is a guy who make replacements for around $90, names glitch, but his email evades me.

Based on what I've gathered from everyone elses problems, they're almost always the ballast. Grab the one off of the one in the junkyard if its cheap.

If you want to bust out the dremel and some epoxy, yes... but it isn't easy to do.

Yes it's almost always the balast that goes. If theres is moisture in the lens that could be causing a short and will kill the balast(glitch provides instructions on how to drill vent holes to prevent killing the nw one). Mine was an exception as the lens assembly has a short in it. I will eventually get around to try and fix ithe original since it's in better shape then the replacement I got. But odds are a new ballast will fix it.

is there a way to repair the ballast? im wicked annoyed by it not working. had a huge fight with the dealership i bought the car from. saying its not covered under warranty. its a FULL warranty. i just want the d*mn thing to work.

If your too smart to listen to our advice then leave dude...
If the dealership won't cover it go spend $90 and buy the glitch ballast. If the dealership will cover it then have them spend $90 and get the glitch ballast.
Get the Damn glitch ballast...
he wont. i told him about it. im just seeing if there are other options. im strapped on cash.

I understand not having much money... I would just live with it now working for a while, and when you have more $$$ give glitch a shout.

well as for "other options" the only other option there WAS is a new neon assembly (neon, ballast, lens, everything) for the low low price of $800~ish but its been discontinued for a few years now, so glitch is the only option

If you just got the car, and it came with a valid safety/certification, get the dealer fix it as it's a brake light, and they ALL need to work for that (at least up here they do)...
i found out i have a $100 deductable. glitch it is. thanks for the help guys
