I found some heads 02 cobra heads locally and was wondering if 700 dollars for a set of C heads would be a good deal. He says they were cast in 02 but for an 03. He said they had little over 50,xxx miles on them. i don't know what the going price on a set of these would be, so a ballpark price would be nice. thanks.

there is no such thing as an 02 cobra, so if they were cast for an 03 that makes them 03 cobra . They held off on the production of the 02 cobra cuz Jon Coletti said it was a dog hence the blown 03 that was introduced in late 02.

anyways I got my 03 heads for 600 with cams. its a great upgrade especially when you complement them with the 01 cobra intake.

Mind as well go for the blower setup if your keeping the stock cams in that 03. Stock eatons can be had for a bargain, and are very capable of producing great numbers with the right setup

That's what i was going for. an eaton would do me good, i am sure. ya they come with cams also, so i should probably offer like 600 for them right? he was asking 800 and reduced to 750 so i am thinking 600 should not be too much of a lowball.

try it, worst case scenario he says no or gives you a counter offer.

Oh and yes, they did make 02 cobras, they got shipped off to austrailia i believe.

he said he can do 700 for the set, i was thinking about the eaton set up, would i need a bigger hood or would cutting the bracing out of it be okay or would i still have clearance problems.

hmmmm 700 for 50,000 mile heads... or 750 for a brand new set.

That sounds like a no brainer to me, but... I'm not normohl

gotta run it's 20 minutes past 420

wow did not see that "new" before the 750. that's a good price. i am considering that

I wonder why people don't do the c head set up with the stock 03 eaton? brand new heads for 750, brand new eaton for 600. How much more could it cost? other than like 5 grand more in the other stuff to do and buy.

i am just looking into this right now, not going to do it. But i was thinking about getting some heads so i can look at them until i have money for the rest of the set up. does anyone have that one site that someone built there mark viii block into a terminator setup? i thought i had it in my bookmarks. thanks

There is a big difference in price between C heads and 03-04[mach1,aviator,marauder, cobra] heads.C-heads 99-01 heads go for around $400 complete with cams and 03+ heads go for $700+ complete with cams.If you're planning to spend $700 make sure they are 03+ casting.I'd not pay $700 for 99-01 heads. If you have problems identifying them just post a part # of the heads here and I'll tell you.

Some day when I have the money that is what I plan on doing, that setup is ideal for our marks. Hell, who would'nt want a 12 second markVIII?

what psi do they stock 03-04 cobra's run? could the cast mark crank hold up to the stock 03-04 psi? probably not, but i don't know.

There are cars out there running 600 rwhp on stock cast cranks. You're fine with the mark viii stock crank .Stock rods and pistons will brake way before the crank will.

Not sure... but, I know they routinely put down 360 RWHP in factory form. Figure a 12% drive-line loss out of the T-56... so 403 crank HP... approx. I know they are rated at 385, but this has long been known to be rubbish. Anyhow, assume that the engine is using using 15% of it's power to turn the blower... realistically the crank is seeing 464HP... approx.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that would be really pushing the powdered metal con-rods. I think the crank might be alright up to about 500 HP (crank, not wheel... and we're talking N/A; F/A I'd decrease it by 15-20%)

You know MMR sells all forged rotating assemblies for $1499 which will handle 600HP and on sale right now for $1699 (usually $1999) an all forged assembly good for 900HP. Drops right in... provided your block is in good shape and not in need of machining or new sleeves. If it needs new sleeves.... perfect time to have it sleeved big-bore for 5.0L of displacement!!! :D

I agree, a very good mod.
the 03-04 cobra guys are throwing away the eatons, they can be had fairly cheap.

I'd do a C head/Eaton conversion in a heart beat.
SO what if I dont have the latest and greatest KB2.345689=\845 blower.

Call me stupid.. but 400-450HP would be just fine for me.
I dont need 650-700.

Like you said you can find a used eaton blower for couple hundred $$ but the eaton is less than 1/10th of the swap cost. All the other accessorises needed for the swap are very expensive and hard to find.

Does any one have that link to the mark viii block built like a terminator? i used to have it in my favs, but they got deleted.

lol. KK, that is for sure, one long list of required parts. Just afraid it might take more than an hour to install. Gary in Elmira, NY.
