i have a 2005 lincoln ls8 and i want that white look coming from my low beams, i was looking at NOKYA Arctic White Stage 2 Bulbs and found the right size for my car (H11) but the only problem is that it requires a heavy duty harness but NOKYA dosen't make a h11 harness for it can i just put that bulb in my car without the harness and with and with no problems????

if they require a heavy duty harness, its because they need more current than the factory harness can supply. using the factory harness would most likely just overheat and burn up the wires or the front of the car.

i know that LSKoncepts has they but the don't have the h11 size that i need for my low beams where do would i got a harness for the size from?????

its just a connector with a bigger gauge wire you could prob make them from stuff at auto zone

Did you try to wire up something? I have an 02 LS and want the HID look without the price and all the wire and mounting involved with an HID kit. NOKYA make the wiring harness for the 9006 on the 02 but I just want to know what you came up with.
Also, if you did do this upgrade how did come out? Are they noticeably brighter than halogen bulbs? I have silverstars on now and they are a little brighter but not what I'm looking for...

I went with the higher wattage Nokya's. I got the wrong ones sent to me and it wasn't worth even sending in them back. I personaly did not notice much but I got compliments from people like " Nice HID's" all the time so I guess they worked somehow.

I didn't use the harness at first, I actually didn't use them for a while and nothing happened at all. I have them now cause I think they may have been messing with my battery but I am not positive. The issue was the battery would drain very quick if say one single interior light was on for to long while the car was off. Weird cause its not related to the bulbs,... the bulbs were off in the headlights.

But never the less I did swap out the harness and It did seemingly fix the problem.

Also all this applied to a 1st Gen.

So in your opinion would you say they are brighter then Silverstars? Or at least cleaner/whiter?

That is noticeable,... yes,.. but not by far in overall brightness but I am sure its do to the kelvins I got.

I will say that they are 100% more presentable then even the silverstars as far as looking cleaner/whiter. You can find lots of bulbs that are way better and cheaper than Sliverstars but the thing with Silverstars is that they can be found anywhere as opposed to ordering bulbs like I now do.

I find some of those deals and get a few sets so when one goes I don't have to reorder at the last minute. I also find that the Silverstars yellowed after a few weeks of use dramatically. I have had these Nokyas that I am speeking of that were the wrong watts for a long time now and I once went through a few Silverstars well within the time I had these.

just spend the extra money on a HID conversion, you can buy a set for around 180 shipped with lifetime warranty's now. and they also use less power consumption then halogens.

What NOKYA's are you using or do you recommend?

Any to your preference is fine ( well 6000k and under really ) but like Chris said if you have the extra cash to afford it get a HID kit. My Highlander has a retro fit kit that I swapped with my LS since they run the same size bulbs and it worked great but I prefer the functionality of them more than anything so since I use the Highlander more I put them back.

Alright, let say I get the $180 HID kit and I get two kits. How many spare HID bulbs should I get? Also, I've asked this question in another thread, do any of you guys have pictures of where you mounted the ballast, wiring harness, etc?

I'm still waiting on a answer to my question. Hope you have better luck...

Hows this for luck?

Buy how ever many you feel you need to buy. I myself have never had one go out on my Highlander and they came with it so I have no clue how long they have been installed.

I don't think anyone can give a definite answer to that question,... may be why it took ONE day to get you one. Lots of small factors play here. How often do you drive when they are needed or in use? Thats one big one. What brand do you plan on going with? Of course another good one seeing how no two brands are usually the same in quality.

As for mounting the ballast. I dont have a pic myself but I have used the search function to find the answer. I'm not being a jerk about that either, I have seen this question asked before and usually it ends up with the same reply in a less friendly manner. Seriously,.. go ahead and do a search and you should pull lots of info on many places to place them.

I hope you now have better luck than before:p

j/k!

fair enough... I should have figured the "use the search function" line was coming. I usually use the search function but I guess I get lazy at work.

It also depends on the size of the ballast, but you should be able to figure that out.

Well.... atleast you got an answer, now I'm waiting LOL :P I'm sure the factory ones will never burn out and I'll be fine....

j/k btw.. about waiting that is. I would still like to know if anyone has ever had a factory HID burn out..
