Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what the issue could be.

Always in the morning. When I back out of my driveway, turn the wheel left to back out, there is a clunk noise as soon as I step on the brake. The wheel is still turned when I press the brake pedal. It's coming from the passenger side rear of the vehicle. At least that's what it sounds like. This doesn't happen at any other time of day. Just the first thing in the morning.

Any guesses?

Sell the car Pete:)

yeah... no way. I'm gonna drive it til it's paid off, then park it, and start on the big mods :D

Maybe your parking brake is hanging up? Or the pads are getting stuck while sitting and the clunk is the sound of them cracking loose?

I had a clunk coming from the rear, heard it going over bumps a lot with no radio on. Ended up being some specialty arm piece or something, it was such a strange part the mechanic had to have one ordered and shipped to him. Wish I could remember what it was called, but he told me it was a part specific to our cars. This post doesn't help at all.

Have the same issue now too, backing up, in the morning. I know that mine has something to do with the rear caliper bracket pins. I had to replace both of them recently after discovering they were stuck. Also they had to special order them. I suggest pulling your wheels off and checking those brakes. Make sure the pins on the caliper brackets move freely. The problem with mine was that the rubber boots had become compromised and corroded allowing water to get in. As a matter of fact, whenever you change the pads I suggest you also lubricate those pins and check the boots. Mine completely seized causing me to have to get a whole new bracket. But, if you get to the problem in time you can clean and lubricate them.

did it do it in the morning when it was hot weather outside as well?

I get the exact same noise when backing down the slight grade of my driveway only in the morning. I always use the e-brake and thought it had something to do with the brakes. Th noise does not seem to happen until I apply he brake.
