Mud Flaps...

Personally I don't like the Mud Flaps on the Mark VIII.

I took a set off the 94 I parted out and sold them... Yes the ones with the white Mark VIII on them. I didn't get $100..

Only new ones fetch a lot. But still, worth putting on eBay and seeing what you get. I was always surprised how much they went for when they were easier to find.

You check to see if they are the fronts yet?

I dont have them yet! LOL

Not sure when they will get here, probably tomorrow. I got lots of stuff coming! :) Mud flaps, intake, misc Mark parts.

Then I need to sell lots of stuff too! Anyone need a Cobra intake for C heads? :D

My bad.

There's protective plastic you can place on your rocker panels etc to guard from rock chips. It's clear and durable and replaceable. You can take it off at shows. Paint does NOT peel off with it. You can cut it to shape. I just don't remember the name of it...

edit: Here it is.

Friend of mine has this on his Audi A8... Cant even see it. Works great.

They arrived. There is a tag on them:

F7LZ-16A550-AA
1997 Mark VIII
FRONT
MOLDED SPLASH GUARDS
date code: 010897

The flaps themselves have Ford Part # of:
F5LB-16A574-AA (LH FRONT)
F5LB-16A573-AA (RH FRONT)

They are a very soft rubber. That tab at the front that looks bent down bends right back flat. I think its from something just sitting on top of them.

They came in the authentic Ford parts bag.

BTW, I test fitted one on the driver's side, it fit perfectly and lined up with everything as is should.

edit: Judging by how they fit, the part number actually on them and the fact that the included directions show a Gen 1. I am thinking they are for a Gen 1. I know the well lining on a Gen II is different and these may not fit that.

The Gen2 rears I had showed Gen1s in the directions also. I would describe them more as a hard plastic though. Anyway if you can find the matching rears I would then be quite jealous, cause as far as mud flaps go I think they are pretty nice.

Ya, these are mostly rigid yet pliable enough to bend. Less of a "flap" if you will and more of a deflector. They really are nice and small. I may have to hunt for rears.

Ordering a set of aftermarket splash guards from Pep Boys. 12 bucks a pair, free shipping.
