I've seen a thread around w/ instructions..but I can't locate it. I have an 02 LS V8 and I know...@ least I think I know this can be done. Can someone please explain this to me or send me to the correct thread.

Also Ken - if you read this thread..I finally installed the white guages and the wood grain...I'll put pics up soon....

and yeah...(promotion right here) if anyone is interested in getting wood grain..definitely go with the package from lskoncepts....it added a much needed look to my car...

Re: clear lights

1st go and check which headlights you have. There are two types... with black or gray seals. The ones with gray seals are apparently easier to take appart... just take the headlight out and heat the seal with a blower... or just stick them in an over for 10min :) the seals should give away rather easy (from what my friends and my research said...) take he orange plastic out... reseal the lights... you should get some silicone ... good ones can be purchased at a petstore... used for sealing aquariums. Make sure you seal it well or you will get fog.

if you have a black ones... contact Wicked_LS memeber through this forum he somehow go his cleared.
Here is his post about them: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=23963

Good luck!!! I myself want to get it done too... but other things had to be done 1st on my car (just done DCCV last night, audio upgrade, brakes upgrade, tint, now waiting for springs to come in. :) ) ... I have the gray seals so I will probably try to do them soon.

Courtesy of QuickLS,
Assuming you have grey sealant...

1)take the headlamps out
- remove the upper plastic rad cover by removing the four turn plugs
- pull the outside temperature sensor off the plastic rad/bumper cover
- remove the plastic rad/bumper by pulling out the three plugs holding it in
- remove the headlamp by remove the three 8mm screws
- unplug the wiring harness

2)remove all three bulbs
3)use a hair dryer to dry out the moisture
4)if the water has not made the inside messy, simple seal up the edge of the housing using silicon and re-install
5)if you have to take the housing apart to clean the inside of the lens, the pre-heat the oven to 210, remove the three metal clips from the bottom of the housing, bake for 10mins, pull apart
6)clean the inside up
7)good time to pull out the amber reflectors for your turn signals (just break them loose and trim up any loose pieces)
8)push back together, put back into the oven for 10mins and then squeeze it all tight, the re-seal it with silicon.

know that it may take longer than 10min,,, took me about 21 min each to heat enuff to pull apart with some effort

It really needs to be set on 250 for 8 minutes. I have never had a problem with that method as described in my how to.

I Searched An Didn't Find Anything...so I Just Want To Ask To See If There Are Any Updates To Clearing Corners On An 02 Ls That Has The Black Gule On The Headlights?

I'm wondering if i can take it somewhere to get it done... I think i have the black.. is it a dark gray... easy to tell if it s black or gray?

If there is a question as to the color then you have black. The grey is definitely grey there is no other way to describe it.

I am not sure what color I have....does anyone know for an '03?

I assume this procedure works for all year LS'?

I'm thinking of clearing my parking lamps and painting the bezel the color of my car....any suggestions?

all 03+ LS's have the black sealant. you would have to use a dremel

guys I just took my black glued headlights apart like a week ago. Heres what I did. 1st I went to home depot and I bought an inch an a half small dremel cutting wheels, they come in a pack of like 6 wheels, they are really small, like the size of a half dollar coin. Along with the dremel cutting wheels I bought the adaptor for my drill to be able to use the dremel wheels with my drill. Now what you have to do is cut off the black lip that holds the headlight together that goes around the whole headlight, you need to cut off that whole lip. Be really careful that you dont cut to deep b/c it will damage the headlight. All you need to do , is take off the lip so that you can see clearly where the clear side of the headlight meets the black part. Then with flat head screw driver you work your way around the headlight taking that black gunk out while you tear the headlight apart. Note be really really careful, b/c on some moments the screw driver would slip inside the light scratching the inner side of the clear part of the headlight. This process took about 2 hours for each light. Ones you have them apart, do what you need to do, make sure you clean the clear portion of the lights really good inside and out, to make sure that theres no black glue gunk visible anywhere. Then with some aquarium sealant seal the headlights really good and your done, let em dry for like 30 mins and done. You can put them back on the car. If you need any help let me know Machaveli2@aol.com
