I was wondering where the majority of you guys buy your brakes online? I’m just looking for good brakes nothing extra special. I’ve used a couple of aftermarket brands like Wagner TheroQuiet and they don’t live up to there name. If you guys know of any online parts stores that have good OEM/aftermarket brands that you can say without a doubt work well (stoping and quiet) on the LS I’m all ears! :D

I just picked up the EBC sport slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads all around for my car. Also picked up some stainless lines for the fronts. They aren't quiet by any means, but they do stop far better than stock. Got 'em from LSKoncepts.

How do the EBC Ultimax work? Has anyone tried those?

Go to LSKONCEPTS over on the right side of this web page. Kn will alsoive discounts to LVC members if you ask.

I think I got a pretty decent deal on mine! not all flashy name brand, but they STOP WAY BETTER, LOOK BETTER, and they are a little tiny bit noisy....I think its cuz the are slotted and drilled....eh....Thats wat my pops said!!! LoL. Gotta a pretty good deal too! I think it was like $280 (that included shipping), something like that, from Brakeplanet.com. I got front and back cross drilled rotors w/Semi-Metallic Pads.
Not bad. I also stumbled onto this!!!: http://brakeperformance.com/site/br...887_44815_44828_44829_77224&dv=0408&ad=google Since my LS is black....Those 2tone black and machined rotors would look pretty sick!!!!!
Heres mine:

Oh...I found my little collage of brake pix! LoL, here ya go:

Good Luck Bro!

Check out brake planet! Its a pretty good deal!

I got my EBC discs and pads from Ken at LSKoncepts; he has a discount for LvC, but I think it's only for Gold (paid) members. I'm thinking I may go back to Porterfield R4-S pads the next time I change pads--there's nothing wrong with the EBC Greens I have, but they squeal a bit, so I want to see if the Porterfields will make a difference. I had them on my '04, and they didn't squeal at all, but that was on stock rotors--the slots on the EBCs may be making the difference. BTW, I think you can only get the Porterfield pads directly from them ( www.porterfield-brakes.com ), but you might check with Ken on that...

EBC everything from AutoAnything.com. Same stuff but way cheaper then LSK.

I buy mine from R1 Concepts. Ken has some really good stuff on his site as well.

Any problem with noise or stopping with those brakes from R1 Concepts? Also which combination of pads and rotors did you go with?

*Also I forgot to mention that I also have a set of stainless steal brake lines all the way around so. Stopping isn’t an issue except that I think I need to reflush them again.

Not necessarily. I checked their prices and they are not but just a few dollars more from our advertised web prices. If someone signs up as an LvC Gold Member our prices are cheaper than theirs.

I got EBC Ultimax rotors and red stuff pads from LSKoncepts and so far im not impressed with either.

The rotors vibrate terribly under heavy braking, and the pads squeal like theres no tomorrow unless they're completely cold. And they've been like that since the first drive with them on.
Ive only driven 450 miles or so with them on. I'm giving them some time to wear in and get seated, but so far they haven't changed.

I have the stainless steel lines with synthetic fluid installed on the fronts with the R1 Drilled and Slotted rotors and Axxis racing pads. I have the lines and pads for the back but I'm waiting to get the back rotors because I got the fronts half off from a guy who sold his LS. The pads work great but they are a bit dirty, and I'm thinking about just upgrading to the Hawk HPS pads. I will be buying the backs rotors soon though. I heard that you can drain the brake fluid from the front and back separately anyone know anything about this?

Have you visited EBC's troubleshooting guide?

I had put the Hawk HPS pads on the Marauder last spring (2007) and ran into squeal issues instantly. Despite having noise-absorbing shims on the pads out of the box, I pulled everything apart and added some spray on disc brake quiet compound from CRC. That took care of the noise for 6-8 months, but it came back on a weak basis. But the big problem with HPS is that they make brake dust like you read about. These things are really for racers and they stop great, and even stop greater after you heat them up. But the dust is a killer. Nothing like having nice wheels and then seeing them dirty in a couple of days.

I bought NAPA Adaptive One Ceramic pads a few months ago and just changed them 2 days ago. The HPS pads were in great shape, evenly worn, and a lot of friction material left on them. I put these adaptive one pads on, which came with new stainless steel pad interface clips to eliminate squeal, along with a very slippery one time use lube (so slippery that the pads kept falling off the calipers when being staged for re-assembly!).

I set out to bed them on the airport perimeter road, and was pleasantly surprised at how well they ran.

They cost me around $70 for each axle (per pair) and so far, so good. And I don't expect to see any signs of brake dust at all.

I'm using Powerslot cryo-treated rotors on the Marauder and non-cryo treated on the LS. I bought the LS rotors from Tire Rack and the Marauder's at speedycarparts.com. Do not do business with these fly-by-nighters. They shipped completely wrong rear rotors for the Mercury and made me pay them for the right ones, then gave me a hard time about returning the wrong ones. 15 months later, I still have them. They appear to operate under at least 3 different names.

I'm generally pleased with the powerslot rotors, and the ones on the Marauder have not warped, unlike the 2 sets of fronts from Ford that warped within 2-3K miles. The LS has the ever so slightest warpage on the fronts, which I attribute to not having the cryo-treated version.

Actually, the prices are a little skewed but we do combine shipping and being a Gold Member on LvC does have its privilages. Not only do you get discounts from all vendors but you support the site that each of you frequent EVERY day. So, you buy a product from a vendor that is not a LvC vendor but then patronize this site. I mean everyone wants a deal but where do loyalties lie within our own forum community? LSK has never stated that we were the lowest price point in town. However, given the chance we could match or beat most prices as probably all vendors on here would.

I understand that you were not trying to be rude but give an LvC Vendor a chance to defend their products and pricing before sending a link to another place. I would venture to guess that most members on LvC would give us a high rating not just on price but on customer service as well. If you buy something from us you get the customer service that comes with it. I'm not saying other outside vendors won't give the same customer service but we have been a loyal vendor for LvC for well over 4 years.

No offense Ken but what you just said made it sound like we should buy from you out of guilt or something.

That definitely wasn't my intention. However, all those guys on the right side of the screen have paid to advertise on this site. Can't we at least have an opportunity to earn the business?

Completely out of context here!!!

I guess that someone should not come to this site if they don't buy everything from you?

You have lots of parts that cant be found and some that are cheaper and yes you deserve a chance to make money. But one thing don't come off on me or any other member for helping another member with his question, he asked it and I gave him a very good answer!

One other thing, your customer service is without a doubt very good but I highly doubt and can vouch that such a online store as large as autoanything.com ( or any others as large as them ) would be anything less so don't use that as a excuse to jack prices up.

I would love to become a gold member but even still that wont save me money even in this situation.

Becoming a gold member should also mean allot more than saving money on your site!

If people feel the need to spend the extra to support your site then well hey they have that right and it is fair enough and it is a good thing seeing on how you pay to advertise but some people also have the right to save that money.

So does that mean someone who buys a product from a non supporting vendor such as autoanything.com to save some money is unloyal?

You gave your side of the story but just because JWerner2 showed another place that was bit cheaper doesn't mean he is ragging on LSK.

I never said he was. Just wanted to let other members know where I'm coming from.
