Rear License Surround - Anybody Paint the Whole Thing?

Wondering if anyone who's painted the rear license surround has also painted the black center portion body color, as well. I know that it's not smooth, though, and would likely need more work than it's worth to get it to look good.

Anybody? Pics?

I tried it virtually once and it looked really crappy. Maybe that was just my photoshop skills though

I have seen the rear center part painted too, didn't look good. Cover the center before you paint. Here is mine painted:
