Hi when I kick the passing gear hard even at 70 mph I get a hard thump kinda like something hitting the floor of the car.
Maybe a bad transmission mount? Or maybe on the coil spring conversion? Don't want the rear end to fall out.
Tranny shifts fine everything ok till you hit passing gear. 1995 Mark VIII

its the rotella, lol

but it does sound like a bad mount if you can "feel" it in the floor. the only way to see is to jack it up and inspect everything you can to try and pinpoint what it is.

its the rotella, lol I already answered that see Rotella Post. This old man was wrong SORRY Danny

Try Going thru the gears (fwd to rvse) with the brake on and give a little throttle to see if you feel anything. Usually you'll at least here or feel a little somethin'. Sounds like trans mount imo too.

my car does this same thing...going from park to reverse it makes a sound like something hitting the floor, as well as when it downshifts on the highway. I havent been able to pinpoint it yet tho

I'm surprised someone didn't say check for loose lug nut . I almost lost my wheel. broke one lug nut off. I should have thought of it myself. :(
