I've had my 4.10s installed for a couple months now and recently I've noticed that when I go WOT from a dead stop I'm hitting the rev limiter for a about a second from 1st to 2nd gear. Is this normal?

We have a rev limiter? Whats it at?

I think I read something about this at TCCoA on the transmission page. Something like the transmission usually signals the shift at 5k because it takes a second to raise 1000 rpms in 1st gear and a second to complete the shift. So when you switch to 4.10s it takes less than a second to go another 1000 rpms, but the same second is needed to signal the shift. So when 5k hits and the shift is signaled, you will actually be at 6500 or so by the time the shift hits, which means the rev limiter was hit. Something along those lines.

Doing the jmod could help your tranny shift faster, but it might be mroe of a tuning issue.

That is a very good looking car btw...

I'd have to agree with that statement. Try the j-mod, and if that doesn't help it think about a tuner. Every 4r70w can use a j-mod anyways as it will help keep the tranny alive longer.
