I've searched and looked through countless threads and my head is still spinning, between offsets, tire width and rubbing, yadda yadda. I've been bothering 02V8Sport via PM, but I feel bad :lol:

I thought about the Rozzi Detentions because they look similar to my stock wheels and wouldn't be a drastic change for the look of the car, but they were only 7" wide and I hate wheels with center caps (although it kinda looks like the stock Lincoln center caps might fit). Then I thought about the Driv Royale wheels, but don't think they'd look all that good actually on the car.

Anyways, unfortunately for bklene and cammerfe ;), it looks like I've settled on the Verde Kaos wheels....but that may change in 5 minutes. :lol: I believe they're a 38 offset but not certain.

Now here's where you guys come in - I'm undecided between 18s or 20s, chrome or hyper silver and what size tire? As far as tire size, I don't like the extremely low profile look too much. Plus, I live in NYC and the potholes here can swallow a small car, so I'd need something that can kinda cushion the blow but not look like I'm going off-roading in the process. I'd also like something wider than the stock look on all four corners. These would really only be nice weather wheels as I'd keep the stockers for the winter on the car.

As far as hubcentric rings go, are these what I'm looking for?

Looks like you did your research good man. I would go with Verdes in hypersilver in 18s.
 
go 18" or 19" and obviously Hyper Silver with a Polished lip... the fatter the back tire the better but obviously be careful with the rubbing
 
ask this guy. annyone remember his username? this is the best stance on 18's if you ask me..

I've got the 245-40/18 size on mine. They provide a much wider look than the stock ones I had.
 
imo, since you already have 17" wheels going with an 18" would be a pretty expensive inch, i would do 19s or 20s. Isnt your car lowered also?? I would be careful with your choice so that you dont rub.
I have a 245/35/20 on 20x8 40 offset wheel and have no issues with rubbing or clearance. (stock suspension)

The rings look just like what Discount Tire used on my Verde Kaos. They're 18X 8. I'm using 245-45 ZR 18 Michelin Pilot P-2s. No problem of any sort. They're unbelievable dry, wonderful wet, and not worth :q:q:q:q in snow or on ice.
 
NYC I PM'd you back to your questions in your PM. I will help as much as possible. You mentioned 20's with 38mm and 8.5" wide. That is going to get a little close for comfort especially on your lowered LS. Try to find a wheel with a 42+ offset. 18's-19's are probably the best overall for those NY pot holes. I have to deal with them here in Chicago too and need a fatter tire so I dont bend my wheels.
 
I say 38+ is fine but I do agree. Since you have monster pot holes ( I don't even call them pot holes ) you would be better with a wider tire so 38+ might get a bit close. I don't see you as the kind of guy to load down a LS with 800Lb's of stereo equipment but it is bumpy up in NYC.

I would do a 18. Your car looks perfect with the factory wheels as is so I say just go a bit beyond that level.

Speaking of NYC, I love that place..lol! I was just up that way and saw some funny sh*t. We were going down what ever street and it of course was one way with 2 lanes but it was divided and the other side had 2 lanes going the same way. Well we were stuck in traffic but the other lanes that were separated were not and some taxi slammed some dudes Conti in a circle as the guy in the Conti was trying to make a left turn. The guy got out flipping sh*t about how the hell could he not see his turn signal, the thing was still blinking...lol! I mean this was directly right next to us!

Then some dude selling glow sticks and necklaces was talking sh*t across the way about the damn crazy cab drivers always starting something. He walked up and asked them to buy some glow sticks...LOL!!!!

I agree that it's an expensive inch, but 20s here in NYC would be dreadful as much as I'd like to do them. I'm really not into the idea of replacing wheels and tires because they're getting bent up by potholes. I've already blown out 2 stock size tires thanks to these roads....and that wasn't even driving fast.

I'm just going to do them in hyper silver with a 245/40-18 tire.

Oh yeah, no big stereo for me, just an 8" Kicker sub in the trunk.

I'll post pictures once they get here and get put on.

The black LS pictured is Midas78's LS. I think he sold it though.
 
I'm not sure that so many spokes in such a tight area would look all that well. I could be wrong, obviously just a thought. It'd be too 'busy'.

Suprisingly these actually look good to me, a lot like stock.

Try them on the car. AT Italia if the link didn't work. At an offset of +49 you might even wanna get them widened for the rear.


Also try Rial Porto's. They're plain looking as well.

No problemo. My only other advice would be the amount of air in the tire, which is obvious probably. I'm thinking with your drop they'll probably look good, I'd just have to see them. You have 24 hours for pictures. Go.
